"jeggings" please comment here...

I had never considered purchasing a pair of anything that might be called a "jegging". Perhaps I am very late to this particular S&B party? Yesterday I tried on a pair and found they were comfortable, and maybe even a tad stylish and flattering. Is there something wrong with me?

Is it normal to wear jeggings and to feel quite cool and attractive in them?

Desperate advice needed. Shock Smile Confused

If you have found clothing that is comfortable, stylish and flattering then why wouldn't you buy it?!!

SunnyRandall · 15/05/2014 09:17

If you feel cool and attractive in them plus they felt comfortable and flattering, why would you NOT wear them?!

thepurplepenguin · 15/05/2014 09:28

I think there are jeggings and jeggings.

Some are like very skinny, holdy-inny jeans and they are good.

Others are more like denim-coloured leggings and they are not so good.

And if you mean the M&S ones, they are just not jeggings at all.

Also what the others said

Nocomet · 15/05/2014 09:30

Jeggings come in many guises as do jeans.

From printed leggings and baggy elastic waisted things, that flatter no one. Through DDs elastic waisted red herring ones that fit beautifully and look like jeans and M&S 5 pocket jeggins, which are stretchy jeans, to DDs Top Shop Jeans, which are just as soft and stretchy as the M&S jeggins.

A name or having/not having elastic round the waist matters not at all as long as they fit and look good with your style of top and footwear!

I love the uniqlo ones, they are like soft comfy super skinny jeans with an elastic waist and they are great for wearing things that are just too short to wear with leggings.

CanaryYellow · 15/05/2014 09:36

I can highly recommend Dorothy Perkins Eden jeggings, they're really really good, thick, hold everything in, smooth over lumps and bumps and most importantly for me, don't go baggy after you've worn them for a while.

KissesBreakingWave · 15/05/2014 09:38

The name is TERRIBLE. It sounds like a disease of sheep, such as might be spread when the shepherd forgets to bring condoms.

KissesBreakingWave · 15/05/2014 09:39

I have otherwise no opinion on these garments.

BeggingYouForBirdseed · 15/05/2014 09:41

I second DP Eden jeggings! They look like skinny jeans but no buttons/zip to worry about and come up high enough to tuck your belly into!

ILoveCoreyHaim · 15/05/2014 09:43

My daughter has ditched the jeggings for teggings from H@M

discophile · 15/05/2014 10:13

Yes, the name had always put me orf for some reason. Yesterday I bought two pairs at M&S. They do not have an elasticated waist. They have a zip and belt loops so yes they are jeans-like.

The name is **ing awful.

if you feel 'cool and attractive' then just buy them!!!

polyhymnia · 15/05/2014 10:18

And 'teggings' are?

ILoveCoreyHaim · 15/05/2014 10:22

They look more like jeans but are a soft material. They look different to her jeggings. She has a nice sort of stonewashed ones which are nice for the summer

balenciaga · 15/05/2014 10:23

Watching as looking for some myself! They need to have pockets on the back and look like real jeans not leggings Grin

discophile · 15/05/2014 10:31

TEGGINGS are "part tights, part leggings". Apparently.

According to Google TREGGINGS are leggings designed to look like trousers.

Which means that what I bought yesterday dinky linky

are really treggings, not jeggings.

It's all blardy procrastination though because I am working from home today and not getting much done. Goodbye.

Sorry I can't link but search teggings on H&M they have pockets and are more like jeans. DD has the ones out the kids section but I think they had them in woman's and other shops have them. They have a proper waistline as well

Only1scoop · 15/05/2014 10:36

Marks and Sparks Jeggings are not Jegging like at allSmile

Look so much better with pockets like skinny jeans but so comfy

They are fab dress em up or down ....

ILoveCoreyHaim · 15/05/2014 10:38

I love the ones from M&S. They are so comfortable and generous sizing. Very smart too.

woollytights · 15/05/2014 15:09

Another one here who loves the m&s ones. Mine are light blue. They really are more like soft stretchy skinny jeans than denim leggings though. Theyre very flattering, I need the rest of the colours really.
