I just realised on mumsnet my size should be 30f and not the 34c I have been wearing, that explains a lot! Can you please advise on where to buy some nice bras in this sizing? Thanks

Do either of you have bottom heavy boobs? I have trouble with filling the tops of cups if they come up too high and don't give enough lift and the Tango balcony ,(leaves one), looks a quite high cup.

Thanks ia.

I've found the fantasie mounded balcony bra gives me a good shape under clothes

www.bravissimo.com/products/lingerie/t-shirt-bras/smoothing-moulded-balconette-bra/nude/fa14nu/

The panache t shirts bras in plunge and balcony styles gave me a weird flattened shape. I suspect that's because my boobs are quite close together - In the Freya deco bra they fall out the middle Blush

The central wires were not as high as usual on panache bras, maybe they have been listening to all the complaints

threebee · 17/05/2014 16:22

I've recently remeasured as a 30F from 32DD and my favourite new bra is the Fantasie Esme.

evelynj · 17/05/2014 21:28

Thanks-have ordered the tango II, will review when it arrives & trying not to get my hopes up too much!

Kristina, that moulded one looks promising-will try it when I get to bravissimo.

I took your ladies advice and quickly dropped into debenhams to get fitted after having trouble ordering online. They were very helpful and suggested trying 30e in some styles and 30f for others, they were all freyas including freya gem and freya patsy the unpadded version, for tshirt bras we tried the deco but it wasn't fitting well so I tried the Gorgeous range tshirt bras in 30e and they fit nicely, so really happy now I have proper fitting bras, thanks for all the advice :)

Really pleased you got some good advice. From us and the Debs bra fitter. Smile

Freya deco

BerylStreep · 17/05/2014 22:40

Prima donna are great for big busts - actually, more than great - amazing. I got my first ones about 12 years ago in Rigby & Pellar. Now that I know my size I order online, as it is much cheaper.

BerylStreep · 17/05/2014 22:55

Prima Donna I have the Deauville, Madison and Atlantis ranges - all a lovely fit with great uplift.

alemci · 18/05/2014 17:10

I have found this brilliant thread again and was reading in last night.

I was thinking of trying a Curvey Kate bra. I am 30 E with slim shoulders and my breasts are fuller underneath, spaced far apart. I do quite well with Fantasy Rebecca and Panache is ok except it is tight around the ribcage.

Freya fit quite well too. I usually go for Balconette styles.

thanks

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/05/2014 19:44

It's unusual to find that both panache and freya/fantasie suit, as they have quite different wire widths. Curvy Kate are generally slightly wider then Freya/Fantasie. Panache are normally narrower.

alemci · 18/05/2014 19:52

do you think ck is worth trying with my shape. some bra straps fall down on me

I think I have a panache clio 32dd which gives me unwanted cleavage and panache super harmony 30E which digs in my back and I spill out of the cups. I bought this on ebay as I had been fitted with it in a smaller size.

fantasise rebecca seems good on me but makes me look bigger than I would like as it is fairly padded.

marriednotdead · 18/05/2014 20:22

Hi, just spotted your latest post alemci.
If the Rebecca is ok generally then the Fantasie Esme (probably in a cup bigger than the Rebecca) may be a better option for you, it's slightly more flattening.

alemci · 18/05/2014 21:07

thanks

do you think Curvey Kate is not for me?

marriednotdead · 18/05/2014 21:28

Some of their styles may work, the issue is the strap placement. If your shoulders are narrower than your boobs, you need the straps to be a bit more centralised. And most balconette/half cup styles have their straps set to the outer edge of the cup.
I have similar shaping and find the Freya Marvel the best fit to give me a nice lift and rounded shape without going for full cup styles.
I have had Curvy Kate bras in the past- the half cups from their showgirl range were pretty good.

yazzy85 · 19/05/2014 17:21

Fantasie Vivienne is lovely too, ordered it online and fits great. I am finding Freya/fantasie brand are fitting me well, the Cleo and Panache bras I ordered online were pinching in the armpit area..

Well the tango has arrived. The cups are massive but it's defo good-will need to go down a band size which should hopefully make the cups fit but it's good full coverage although digging in slightly under one armpit!

Why is it so difficult to find a perfect bra?! This one will be close when I get the right fit so cheers for the recs :)

KristinaM · 21/05/2014 16:01

If the cups are massive, why would you go down a band size? You need to keep the band size the same ( assuming it's the correct fit ) and go down a cup size

Passthecake30 · 21/05/2014 17:39

I'm a 30ff and the bravissimo satine works for me. O like it as it doesn't push my boobs to my armpits. Thou took a while to get the shoulder straps just right!

misskensington2014 · 21/05/2014 17:44

madeinpreston.com are pretty good - 26-38 DD to J cup

evelynj · 21/05/2014 22:02

Well the band isn't as snug as I'd like either but by going down a band size with same cup size, that effectively makes the cups smaller doesn't it? I.e. 34h=36g?

I like that there is so much coverage but don't understand why it's not a full cup as you couldn't really get much fuller surely?

KristinaM · 22/05/2014 09:25

The band should be snug on the tightest setting, as they ease off after a while . So if a 36 is too loose, go for a 34 . But don't go up or down a band size just to get a different size of cup. Most of the support come from the band, so it's very important to get the correct fit.

Yes, a 36G might have roughly the same cup size as a 34H. But it will also be about 1/4 inch higher at the sides, it might have 3hooks instead of two or a wider band at the back. It might or might not have fully adjustable straps .

It's not exactly the same bra. It's a bra with similar sized cups, which may or may not have other similar features. It's unlikely that both will fit you equally well .

I'm between band sizes and I always go down to a 30F or FF. I'd never dream of buying a 32EE or F just because they didn't have a 30. It would be too loose on me after a few weeks, especially as I'm a front fastener which loosens them a bit .

KristinaM · 22/05/2014 10:00

Sorry I mean band should be snug on the loosest setting ie the first hook, so you can tighten it later < must preview>

evelynj · 24/05/2014 17:33

Thanks-I've just got the 34h & it's perfect!

This will defo be my new go to bra-are there any similar panache ones worth checking out?

KristinaM · 25/05/2014 17:16

Good news! I think most women are a bigger cup size and a smaller band size than they think
