I just realised on mumsnet my size should be 30f and not the 34c I have been wearing, that explains a lot! Can you please advise on where to buy some nice bras in this sizing? Thanks

Ooh statistically-you'll have me bankrupt! So if I was 34h or 34hh in freya, what would that translate to in ewa and incidentally do you know how much p&p is? I love their website-a lot more 'real women' going on!

www.ewa-michalak.pl

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/05/2014 21:37

Worth it - hell yes :) I love my Ewas! I think the postage is normally 27 zloty (just over a fiver, 1 zl is 20p)

Sizing. Which specific bra are you looking at as they vary lots! And which freyas do you wear? DO you have any other bras (cleo/panache etc for comparison too?)

To give you an idea, I don't wear that much Freya as they are a bit wide set for me, but my freya size is generally a 30HH. I do own a 30GG Deco which is a little small - if they made it, I would wear a 30H in this. I wear a 30H in Cleo unpadded styles (Marcie, Meg, Minnie, Millie etc), a 30HH in most bravissimo branded (occasionally a 30J)

My ewas are pretty much all 30HH

Brastop.com

I always buy from there. I love fantasie fauve bras and lepel. Also Curvy Kate are great.

TheMightyMing · 14/05/2014 22:34

Wow! Just checked the Ewa website! Good to see some normal sized women wearing undies- you wouldn't get that in the Uk!!!

snugglesnook · 14/05/2014 22:37

Fantasie Elodie

Coumarin · 14/05/2014 23:08

Is Ewa easy to buy from and for returns? I've looked on there before but was hesitant as it wasn't in the UK.

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/05/2014 23:17

Depends on size. If you are in their "standard" range (the sizes on their drop down on the individual bra pages) then the bras are fully returnable. Obviously you do have to pay postage back to Poland but last time I did that it cost me about £6 for a box with 3 bras in it. One thing to watch - when your order arrives there will be a dispatch note of sorts with a little till receipt stapled to it. If you have to do a return, they must get that little till receipt back. Something to do with Polish tax/VAT rules.

If you are not in their drop down, then if you look at the bottom of the page for the bra it will tell you the range for custom mades. These are not returnable but if you get it wrong there is a fairly active market for reselling these so you wouldn't lose too much.

Coumarin · 15/05/2014 03:45

That's really helpful Statistically Thank you.
I think I'm a 'standard' size (30ff) but it's been a while since I looked so I'll check.

Thanks again. Smile

Coumarin · 15/05/2014 03:46

Looked on the site I mean.

yazzy85 · 15/05/2014 11:10

The Ewa bras look amazing but it looks like I might need to have 30f specially made making it non returnable. I ordered the Freya ones recommended on here Rio and Gem from Debenhams. I also wanted to try Fantasies but can't find many in 30f, would 32e also work? My underbrush is 30.5 and over 37.

Sorry *underbreast, ah autocorrect :P

Also, the Cleo Lucy arrived today from Amazon, 30f, cups fit quite well but the straps are very close to the armpit area and while it doesn't pinch it makes it look like there is underarm fat there, a bit uncomfortable, maybe I need another size, any advice what I am doing wrong?

OP posts:
evelynj · 15/05/2014 21:02

Yazzy-have you tried 'scooping' the breasts into the cups? Watch the video on the ewa website & try that to see if it helps. Tbh I find most straps too close to my armpits & wonder if a full cup style might make them sort of closer to the middle of shoulder/neck.

Ooh, I might wait to lose a bit more weight before, (a weight wait, if you will ;) before going for an ewa. Which styles would you recommend statistically?

Will order a tango balconette in the meantime when I check sizing of the cleo. Thanks for all the helps :)

StatisticallyChallenged · 15/05/2014 21:47

I've tried lots of Ewas. If you are prone to problems with straps in armpits then a pl, S or SM is better, Whilst beautiful the CHP have wide straps.

yazzy85 · 16/05/2014 09:45

Freya Gem and another Freya balcony bra arrived today, they fit great around band and underarm isn't being pinched but the cups are not fitting well, they are empty at the top, material is gaping. Should I try 30e instead of 30f to solve this???

If you possibly can, save up and visit a branch of Rigby and Peller. Your shape will look better, and you will be more comfortable in your bra that you've ever been. They are ruinously expensive, but I handwash in mild suds and they last forever.

Their USP is the fitting service, which they don't even measure you for - they just look at you in a cubicle with your top off.

I am the most unlikely person to buy expensive bras: I don't give a shit about most clothes, wear cheap t-shirts when not at work, and until I got pregnant I didn't even need to wear a bra, so found getting used to them horribly restrictive and uncomfortable. But a perfectly fitting bra makes everything look and feel better.

SuperFlyHigh · 16/05/2014 11:07

Trino - a friend of mine swears by R&P but goes to their sales as well as buys normal price.

their fitting service is the same as Bravissimo who also look at you with your top off.

SuperFlyHigh · 16/05/2014 11:08

OP - I really would if I were you try to get to a Bravissimo or Debenhams.

their bra fitters are excellent and will be able to tell you if they fit well or not which I find is crucial when you have a larger bust.

Trinovantes · 16/05/2014 17:12

SuperFly has your friend also tried bravissimo? I'd be interested to see how the two compare.

SuperFlyHigh · 16/05/2014 17:16

Trino - yes she has tried Bravissimo - AFAIK she's now a K cup and she just finds Rigby and Peller better for her.

I haven't tried them yet, just because they aren't necessarily nearer etc.

It could be you need to go down a size, or it could be that you need a style with less fabric at the top, more of a balconette or half cup

evelynj · 17/05/2014 09:45

Please can I ask is this the tango balconette that everyone likes? There seem to be a few different varieties/patterns & just want to check I order the right type

mrsbug · 17/05/2014 11:02

Evelyn I prefer the tango II style, it is made of lacy material with a leaf pattern

JohnCusacksWife · 17/05/2014 11:14

I second mrsbug. The Tango Balconette in the leafy pattern is my go to bra. Fits like a glove, gives a great shape and v comfy.
