Holiday wardrobe advice needed!

Have virtually no summer clothes I like and am going in holiday in 2 weeks. Going shopping this week, can only get to Newbury (John Lewis/debenhams/fat face/h&m) but need everything for my holiday (apart from my swimsuit. Am pear shaped with heavy thighs.so don't do shorts. Am 5 foot and a size 10/12.

Am thinking I need:
a couple of dresses that can be worn to beach and in evening
Cardi to go with dresses
jeans
Skirt
4-5 vest tops/t shirts to go with jeans and skirt
Ballet flats (have flip flops, wedges and converse!)

I hate shopping, get overwhelmed with choice and end up with stuff i never wear as have nothing to go with it. What would you stylish people be buying/packing for a family villa holiday in Menorca? Budget is reasonable I think -
£250. Thank you!!

I got a couple of beach dresses last week from TK Maxx in Newbury. They are t-shirt style with an elasticated waist and really good for putting on over a swimsuit. They aren't on the website but are in the front of the shop.

I would start with the dresses as I find them most difficult to get. Oasis have some nice ones and Fat face have an ok blue sleeveless one in the sale online. Then ask whatever shop you get one in for them to recommend a cardigan to go with and buy accessory jewellery to match. I was in Spain at Easter and it was too hot for jeans so I never wore mine, instead wore cream chino type trousers from Zara which any top would have gone with. In fact I only wore 2 dresses (one from Oasis and one from Great Plains) and the cream trousers and a few tops for the whole 9 days! Shoes - personally I would go for tan leather flats. Your budget is great - if stuck just ask the shop assistants.

Try Crew Clothing and Mint Velvet in Newbury. H&M are good for vest tops. I would agree that it will probably be too warm for jeans. H&M do nice chinos in the LOGG section upstairs. If you're going up to the retail park, try harem trousers in Next for a softer, more flowy look. Clarks have 20% off selected summer shoes at the moment too.

You could choose a jeans style trouser in a lightweight fabric. I spend most of my evenings on holiday in 3/4 length trousers and tops. You can vary the tops you wear with the bottoms, and accessorise with different jewellery etc.

You might still get a few cool evenings if you are sitting outside at that time, we went to Menorca on 7th June last year and needed a cardi/sweatshirt/light jacket at the start of the week.

Did you see the pear shaped thread? Lots of great dresses and skirts there.

Do you have a Monsoon in Newbury? I recently saw lots of v nice cotton sleeveless tops in there that would be perfect for the med. Their website is terrible though so I cannot find any of them on there!
Also, do you have a waitrose nearby? If so, you can order anything (loads of things) off the JL website and just do a free clock and collect to store & try it all on in the comfort of your own home and return what's not perfect. I think this is a great option for reluctant shoppers - it is much less tiring!
