Just that really. I'm considering having eye-lash enhancement and maybe my lips done and just wondered if anyone had had it done and were you glad you did!

No!
It looks naff and any mistake is there forever and besides once it's one you're stuck wearing the same thing all the time and where's the fun in that?
Don't.

wickedwitchofwaterloo · 11/05/2014 22:01

I've had my lips, eyebrows and ultra eyeliner done, I went to Natural Enhancement in Chiswick for the lips and eyeliner and can't recommend them highly enough Smile

wickedwitchofwaterloo · 11/05/2014 22:03

Definitely glad I had it done, it doesn't look naff at all, the effects are quite subtle and not at all over the top, also, I went to a professional so no mistakes Confused

Ludways · 11/05/2014 22:06

I don't think I could bear never to see my natural face ever again.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 11/05/2014 22:08

Yeah I've had my brows done. It doesn't last long on me though, under a year and it needs redoing

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 11/05/2014 22:13

I'd consider it for my brows, as they are more or less non-existent due to alopecia and as I'm dark haired I look weird without filling them in, but whatever I use comes off in swimming pools.

I think the thing with "it looks naff" - well, yes it does on some people, but those are the only ones you know have had it done, my guess is that there are a lot of people who have had it done but no one realises because it looks natural and good.

Crazy8 · 11/05/2014 22:42

I just thought it would be nice to wake up and not have to mess about with eyeliner and lipstick. If I had it done I would ask that it's done with subtlety especially on my lips. I was just looking for an enhancement.

My lips are really subtle. It's a bit of a chore healing it but once it all settles, it looks really good. I have the liner and "blush" done. PM me if you want to know anything! Smile

ArtFine · 12/05/2014 08:26

Wow! Do they foundation as well?

fooolofbeans · 12/05/2014 11:12

Just had them made to look like they did before i over plucked, defs recommend

judypoops · 12/05/2014 11:16

fooolofbeans
Where did you get them done? Just thinking about getting mine done!

TereseaGreen · 12/05/2014 12:53

Another one waiting on the eyebrow information. I have a scar through one of my eyebrows from childhood, would it work for covering that up?

Dietagainmonday · 12/05/2014 13:06

I had my eyebrows done about 2 years ago (due to alopecia) and only now do they need a top up, they're very natural looking but have seen some shockers.. Been considering eyeliner bit scared tho so close to the eye.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 12/05/2014 13:18

If anyone would like to share the names of the successful eyebrow clinics I would be grateful (esp. if in the SE).

fooolofbeans · 12/05/2014 13:23

i'm based in the north east but happy to share

here is the company they 'use' (?) lots of info, my therapist advised me to research exactly what i wanted first

nouveau contour

before and afters

judypoops · 12/05/2014 23:06

Thank you for that, will have a look

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 12/05/2014 23:14

Yes, thank you Smile

TheCraicDealer · 12/05/2014 23:16

I have my eyebrows done- I asked my eyebrow lady if she'd ever done any men and she's said she had a fella come on for a cover up on a scar on his brow that bothered him. So it can be done on scars.

It really starts to fade after nine months or so, but the top-up is nowhere near as pricey as the initial tattoo. The fact that it's not like that forever is also a bonus really. And mine don't look in the slightest bit naff! Grin

TereseaGreen · 13/05/2014 08:18

[Flowers] Thanks Craic. I have spent many morning penciling in my "chav brow". I was fashionable briefly in the late 90s when the trend for a shaved line in the eyebrows took off at school but since then it has been strictly a cover up issue. Grin

Onesleeptillwembley · 13/05/2014 08:29

There's someone I see frequently that's had it done. It's very tidy and professional, but oh, it looks awful. It's not too bad on photos but in real life it looks like what it is, a tattoo. She's mentioned a few times how people have said the look good. That's because they don't want to upset her, it at least that's the case with us. Please do think carefully, they look awful.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 13/05/2014 08:31

Yes, but pencilled on ones don't look great either, and when you have to do it every day (I am dark haired / pale skinned / non-existent brows) it may well be better.

TheCraicDealer · 13/05/2014 09:01

Here's a linky to an old thread where I posted pictures of mine, pre top-up. Please forgive the (natural) stragglers Grin

Algorta · 13/05/2014 09:24

But all the pics in the brow "after" shots look like tattoos. Maybe it's partly to do with the unnatural perfection and solidity of the shapes.

JapaneseMargaret · 13/05/2014 10:16

Heavily penciled brows are very much a fad. Tattooed brows just look like heavily penciled brows.

I would be wary about doing anything permanent (on your face! Shock) that's going to look awfully dated in just a matter of years.
