Good quality vest tops

I have had them in the past from next and marks and spencer but after just a few washes they are looking pretty rubbish. Thin material is usually the problem as they end up out of shape. I'd pay for 2/3 really good quality tops with good fabric. I am a size 18 but where would I find them?

Matalan extra long vests.Hold their shape brilliantly and wash well.

H and m basics ones are good. They've got a lot of Lycra, which is a double edged sword: they keep their shape and wash well, but they do cling and can ride up. If I size up the neck line is too low for my liking, but I really don't like showing any cleavage.

I like Gap vests best.

I second the matalan ones. They're stretchy but that sort of stretch that resists a bit so keep the shape well

Crutchlow35 · 11/05/2014 15:20

Is the material thick on the matalan ones or almost see through like the others? Gap is a good suggestion.

Topshop, i have vest tops from there that are honestly 6+ years old, still go back into shape with every wash and red/green/ blue ones have kept their colour well. black ones admitedly are slightly gray now but that's onky in the past couple of years or so.

Kettlewell clothing. Close your eyes to some of the awful other clothes and just head straight for the vest tops. A bit more expensive than others, but good, thick stretchy material that washes really well, no bobbling or fading, and in virtually any colour you can think of.

SuperFlyHigh · 11/05/2014 17:04

Fizzy I'm now tempted to take a look at the awful clothes at Kettlewell!

Matalan. The material is decent quite thick and they keep thier shape and wash well. They are a good lengh aswell I find alot of vest tops shrink away to nothing over time. H&m are good too.

I got good ones from Matalan but they were Falmers. Nice colours and long eith lave in the boyom (I like to have it hanging out). Sainsbury's do really good ones, nice and thick and they can be worn anyway round. One side is a v neck and the other is straight.
The also do control ones but I haven't tried them yet.

Just came on to say the matalan ones but I have been beaten to it. They're great - £4 each in various colours.
