Too dark again....

Weeping with frustration at yet another hair colour that is too dark at the hair dressers. I have highlights and lights.
The top is ok as I need darker roots but the bottom is too dark. Is there anyway I cAn lighten the bottom whilst leaving the top?

Can you go back to your hairdresser? I recently went lighter (was very dark brow) with foils too. It went lighter but too warm, so this time we coolled it down but like you the roots were too light. My lovely hairdresser redid my roots free of charge.

I did tell them I didn't like it but they won't fix it free of charge so stuck really.
I had mine cooled down too which I think has made it feel darker.
