D'you know Wild I bought some shoes from the M&S Outlet (they were 50% off and had one pair in my size , obviously crying my name) , they were packed:
in a box, in 2 seperate polythene bag 'pouches' , with little shoe trees in them.

In M&S stores (full price) they just lob them in a bag I always ask for them in two bags so they don't scratch each other.

I've noticed this from the outlet. I wonder if it's to do with coming from Amazon? I'm becoming a bit obsessive about checking for clearance stuff, I also got a really lovely linen mix shirt last week for peanuts.
