Calling ladies with long bodies!

I have a random problem that I wondered if anyone else has too.

I am 5"7 with a BMI of 21.6 and have a disproportionately long body compared to my stumpy legs. I have to buy short jeans as regular ones are too long!

Anyway, I wondered if anyone else finds that because their body is so long, that when they sit down they have a mahoosive stomach. I'm not overweight but when I sit down it's literally rolls and rolls. Because of this I have to pick my tops carefully and go for really baggy ones to try and disguise it.

Is it just me or does anyone else experience this?!

Nope, not just you. Higher waisted trousers are helpful, but I'm sorry to say only 50 sit-ups every day makes mine more bearable.

Do you have children? I think being long bodied is a red herring actually. I'm long bodied and slim, and after kids my tummy was exactly as you describe even after losing the baby weight. But after a year of swimming regularly (my preferred exercise) the rolls aren't there anymore. Not flat as a board but not a proper muffin top. It's definitely harder after kids but toning up is the key - it's possible to be slim but have flabby bits. I never used to get tummy flab before kids, it all went on my bum - now trekking around everywhere with kids I don't get flabby bum or thighs anymore but my tummy is my part I have to work at. and avoid wine and crisps

I have a really long body but don't have the problem you describe.
I think you are misdiagnosing.

I could have written your post op, I have longer legs though Grin

Sat down huge stomach, stood up it disappears. I find that pulling my jeans over it once I am sat gets rid of it and wearing high waisted jeans.

Being long bodied is a pita. Don't get me started on fitted waists, swimming costumes etc.

I don't even have children! This is part of my worry... if it is like this now, what will it be like once I have them!

I've also found high waisted trousers helpful but these seem to be like the holy grail.

Glassesdontsuitme- I also have to pull my jeans over it once I sit down, it's like sit flumph pull ah it's gone, also YES to the swimsuit issue. I found an M+S one that was specifically for long bodies though but this was about 5 years ago.

I used to be a lot slimmer and still had the problem but nowhere near as bad as I do now. I wondered about focusing on my belly but that just seems to work on my abs rather than the big squishy bit from my belly button downwards.

Glad I am not alone Grin
