Scars from varicose vein surgery

Hi - about a year ago I had some unsightly veins removed through surgery. I am left with scars that the surgeon said would fade... But haven't. My legs look almost as bad as before I had the veins removed. Any ideas on what to do ?

they do fade eventually - i had this surgery in 2001. ) (i was only 29) i had pretty horrendous veins so was glad to get rid - have you tried using bio oil or similar? the scars will always be there but they fade from red to the same colour as your skin. I had over 30 staples in my leg, but they marks just dont bother me at all any more.
