Alternatives to Birkenstocks

I love them - the way they mold to your foot shape makes Them so comfy plus, they last years.

Mine finally broke after 6 solid years of spring summer constant wear and now I want another pair. Any suggestions for something similar but with a different
brand am I making any sense?!

Clarks have a version this year which I've ordered.

CockBollocks · 05/05/2014 20:59

If you love them why don't you just buy birkenstocks?

I have a pair of Mephisto sandals that are v similar in style, but a bit less 'flat footed'.

RayPurchase · 05/05/2014 21:26

These mine are a bronzey snakeskin effect.

WheresRyder · 05/05/2014 21:45

If you but the meohisto you may as well buy Birkenstock they are cheaper.
Not stylish as per s&b guidelines but I alternate between Birkenstock and fitflop with some clarks or office sandals as well as next and m&s

PearlyGrey · 05/05/2014 22:36

I'd just stick with birkenstock! You can get them on amazon for much cheaper than in shops.

bettykt · 05/05/2014 22:42

Definitely get another pair of Birkenstocks perhaps in a different colour. Been wearing mine today around the house.

I buy mine in Costco, really cheap. This year I've got a green pair with a purple sole, lovely!

KosherBacon · 06/05/2014 05:54

I've ordered a pair of mumsnet love em or hate em Seasalt sandals. Not sure if they will fit me though.

Housewife2010 · 06/05/2014 06:48

I recommend Mephistos. I've worn them for years & like that they're not as ubiquitous as Birkenstocks. I bought a pair of Birkenstock toe post sandals for a change last year but found them really uncomfortable. I've just ordered a new pair of toe post Mephistos for this Summer.

NorksAreMesssy · 06/05/2014 06:52

Now don't be silly, Hexy

You know you love Birkenstocks, you know they fit perfectly, you know you don't get blisters, or rubbing, you know they can get soaking wet and still recover, you know they last for ages, and you can have every colour possible.

Why would you buy an inferior product?

bigTillyMint · 06/05/2014 06:53

Agree with Rudy and Norks - I have at least 3 pairs of Birkies - why go for anything else?!

VivaLeBeaver · 06/05/2014 06:54

Send them off to be mended. Birkenstock do a repair service.

TickleMyTitsTillFriday · 06/05/2014 06:59

Birkies all the way!

spiderbabymum · 06/05/2014 07:03

Thanks for the tkmaxx tip

How about these

They look GORG

OMG ShockShock
Far too blingy for me. I'm a strict brown boring leather sandal.

Aaaaahhhhhhh ok. I think I'll go for the old faithful birkies. Norks you are so right.

Viva - burkies have gone to the great shoe box in the sky. The repair shop would have had a task and a half on their hands fixing mine - they were literally down to the bone.

TkMaxx had kids sandals on weekend - i bagged a pair of blue ones for DD -11.99!! Bargain!

Betula are another range by Birkenstock, they're got lots of nice styles.
