White Jeans

I know lots of people hate them but for my sins I have always really liked white jeans, perhaps I was Liz Hurley in a former life. I would love some help to find some fab flattering ones that aren't a ridiculous price and preferably easy to get hold of as have two young children who have no time or inclination for Mummy going shopping.

I have the everyday skinny jeans from Next as per MN recommendation in the blue they were great, bought the black and they were a disaster so stretchy they literally walked off me within half an hour.

I want need some white ones preferably to take on holiday next week as good as the blue version of the aforementioned wonder jeans from Next. Any ideas?

Look at Bum Lady's blog - she's just done a feature on them. I'm not a fan of them, personally.

MissBlake · 05/05/2014 21:42

I love white jeans, I have 2 normal skinny pairs from matalan and topshop and a cropped pair from newlook.

Tvseemstobemyhobby · 05/05/2014 22:19

Am googling bum lady. No success at the moment but will keep trying although expecting to hit on some weird fetish site

Miss Blake think it's just you and me on the white Jean trail. I will have a look in Matalan this week.

Bum lady is a blogger " does my bun look 40 in this" can't link but she did a blog about white jeans at the beginning of the week. I think M&S won in her opinion..

bettykt · 05/05/2014 23:06

I don't buy expensive jeans anymore so l just bought these cheapie white ankle skimmer ones just to try them out as I'm not too sure how practical white jeans are with young dc. They seem nice enough, thick enough denim so you can't see my knickers cheapo jeans!

TheWorldAccordingToJC · 06/05/2014 11:31

I'm decidedly on the fence re white jeans but have decided to buy a pair so did so last week. I bought the Next ' relaxed skinny. ' ones as they're the jeans I wear a lot anyway, usually in dark denim or grey.

They're flattering, good quality and slim fitting without being like Jeggings . They come up big so I have a mixture of 8s and 10s and both fit in a similar way, although the 10s feel loose after half an hour

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/05/2014 17:30

Bum Lady here She is a MNer (or maybe an ex MNer) and very nice, although she is super tall and skinny so EVERYTHING looks good on her. Grin

BearPear · 06/05/2014 17:33

I too succumbed to the white jean fad, although in my head they are still part of a "mummy uniform" - think white jeans, tunic top and blinged-up sandals.

I got white skinnies from TKMaxx for 16.99 at the weekend, they had various brands & styles at around the same price.

CoconutAmericano · 06/05/2014 18:05

I dont know if im brave enogh for white. Im thinking cream might be a tad more forgiving, not sure though. Might start looking

Cocolepew · 06/05/2014 18:09

The Next relaxed skinnies come in cream.

CoconutAmericano · 06/05/2014 18:18

Oh thanks, will take a look

MrsCampbellBlack · 06/05/2014 18:37

I love them. Topshop Baxter are good. If you wait for the sales then j brand 811 and Ida Rizzo are both lovely. The latter is cream rather than white.

You need to try lots on really. I don't think dmbl40 has ever been a mn'er. I like her but nothing she likes works for me as v different shape.

I also tend to size up in white jeans as don't want skin tight.

The Ida ones are high wasted so v flattering and faux pockets on front so no show through.

Frame garcons also gd if you wanted a slim boyfriend shape.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/05/2014 19:49

You are prob right re MNer. I only 'know' her through Twitter, but since she talks to lots of MNers I assumed she was one.

I am also a completely different shape and like different styles than she does mostly, too -but I love to see her party dresses!

coffeewithcreamm · 06/05/2014 19:53

I'm getting the Levi Demi curve ones in slim fit.

Milmingebag · 06/05/2014 19:54

Anthea Turner.

That is all.

Tvseemstobemyhobby · 07/05/2014 21:39

Ha ha Milminge bag.

Betty, soooo how do the Tesco ones look? What's the sizing like?

I picked up a pair in Matalan but am going to M & S tomorrow so a currently on hold but not for too long as the holiday is getting closer.

bettykt · 07/05/2014 22:23

TVsee I sized up re: Tesco pair so that they are not too tight. I bought short as I'm 5'2 and they skim my ankle.

Mandy2003 · 07/05/2014 22:46

...should only be worn by people with very regular periods Sad

Pinickins · 08/05/2014 08:21

I love white jeans for summer and tried on M&S 5 pocket jeggings in white earlier this week - ridiculously see through!! The lift and sculpt ones that the Bum Lady recommended were a bit thicker but cut very high on the waist - too much like Mum Jeans for me! The search continues....

netty36 · 08/05/2014 08:42

I got some lovely ones in GAP but did size up as were skin tight.

hiphapnap · 22/05/2014 10:36

I did a post with me wearing them and I'm a size 14, I reckon they are fine if you cover your bum with a top.

usualnamechanger · 22/05/2014 10:38

I looked lovely on white jeans... when I was 14/15 years old. I wouldn't, I am a size 10 now (after child) and I feel too fat to wear white and also it's not the most child friendly colour Smile

Bonsoir · 22/05/2014 10:59

White jeans are a summer staple - they go with everything (far more versatile than blue jeans) and can be dressed up or down with ease. Much prettier and more glamorous than blue IME. But they are, admittedly, less forgiving than blue jeans and you need to be long of leg.
