Hi all

So I have a trip comming up and I am looking for a bag to carry into the cabin with me. Not a suitcase, not a huge weekend got everything bag more a large handbag / tote bag

I need a bag with pockets or organisation and something that looks stylish

Want something big enough to hold the essentials for a longhal flight but not the actuall holiday - passport, books, iPad, pashmina, bottle of water etc, maybe a change of clothes, in an ideal world

I think id prefer something without wheels adding to the weight

Also want something that can be used as a hand bag at the other end.

I just can't seem to find anything that actually fits the bill and that I would want to carry as a bag!

Got an ok budget (£150) which I would be prepared to go over for the right bag. Would prefer leather to canvass, smart etc and a colour rather than black. Definitely not a rucksack, or messenger bag.

Please tell me the perfect bag is out there!

I have the kipling erasto in black which I use for the gym etc - I would definitely use this for hand luggage if I wasn't going hand luggage only and needed the biggest bag I could get away with

I've got a large Longchamps Pliage. Great and can be folded up small when not in use.

Have you looked at changing bags? I used one recently as a plane bag/handbag for other end and did not use it for baby stuff at all even though ours was with us. Good size with lots of pockets fitted in passport, idpad, kindle, sunglasses, purse, travel guide, water , make up etc.

This was the one I had (although bought for a bargain price of £18 in Jojomaman sale!)

I'd second the longchamps le pliage, it doesn't have compartments but if that's a deal breaker you can buy a handbag organiser for inside it?

Comes in loads of colours and a few sizes/handle lengths

You can buy handbag organisers in Primarks now.

What is a handbag organiser?

Actually lovingmatleave I did think about that, I'm one f those people that likes internal pockets or open pockets were I can put things so I can get to them easily and quickly might just have an investigate as to weather my storksak would be just the thing! Hadn't thought of it before, it's just been languishing in the wardrobe since planned dc2 didn't arrive.

Will also look at the other bags mentioned when I am on the pc later.

One of these. You pop it into your handbag, and can move it around to the next handbag, and everything is in it's place.

Interested re handbag organiser myself as I am looking to but a nice tote/shopper instead of a changing bag... I was just going to buy a few different sized makeup type bags for organising purposes but an organiser thing could work better, any links?

I like the Longchamps de Pliage bags, good tip off.

TK Maxx are often good for large leather colourful bags.

M&S also have some nice ones at the mo, I have my eye on this one for a start...
