Comfortable cheap trainers?

I know this isn't really style or beauty but I'm feeling a bit daunted. I wear trainers for pootling around at weekends, and for riding my bike to work (changing when I get there), so not for any serious sporting activity. My last pair came from Moshulu and have fallen apart after two years of wear. Where can I get some comfortable alternatives that won't cost the earth? I also want to be able to go to a shop and try them on - I'm in West London.

I have been having problems with my feet and needed to get something quickly that was comfortable to use as slippers indoors. I bought these from SportsDirect for £13 and they are great.

Branch 309 have great discounts on branded trainers in the ex display section (ex display from Schuh stores but barely any flaws).

Try TK Maxx? Bit of a gamble I know.

I got royal blue addidas with lime green laces and soles from Sports Direct last year and get loads of compliments on them. Paid about £30.

Looks as though Sports Direct may be the answer: we have one near us so v. easy! Thanks for the help.
