Best MAC nude lipstick shade

Just that really, wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a nude MAC lipstick?
I have a fair complexion and this would be an everyday lipstick, to be worn in an attempt to look more polished?
Preferably a non matte shade as think they're a bit difficult to wear everyday.

And also if anyone reads this and is familiar with MAC make up- is the prep and prime SPF 50 primer any good?
Looking for an SPF to wear under make up everyday and thought it sounded good.

Any advice appreciated!

Creme in your coffee - I'm very pale and find nude shades difficult as they can be draining, but this is really flattering.

Umicar · 03/05/2014 11:08

My favourite is Hug Me, my go to nude.

Saurus72 · 03/05/2014 11:53

Ooh yes, Hug Me is in my make-up collection right now Wink

Hug me or Viva Glam 2.

Thanks everyone, I was looking at shades on the internet and was starting to go a bit googly eyed, they were all beginning to look the same.
Will check out the ones mentioned in real life, hug me obviously seems popular!

Brave is a lovely shade too

Botanicbaby · 03/05/2014 22:44

bare in the all black casing is my favourite mac nude.

not too brown, not too pink, not too matte. I find it doesn't last as long as the other lip colours though as it goes on almost like a gloss (def isn't a gloss though), has a slight shine which looks lovely.

Apatite1 · 03/05/2014 22:53

The primer is good, but the packaging is awkward if you want to get every last bit out!

MrsLettuce · 04/05/2014 07:57

Mac do some great shades and the quality is certainly fab.

Thing is, what's a perfect nude for one person can be as wrong as wrong can be for another, popularity of one shade over another is no clue I'm afraid a hint of a tint one way or the other can make or break the result - as with foundation really. The only way to find your perfect nude is trial and error IRL - thankfully the MAC counter 'girls' are trained makeup artists and should be well capable of helping you work out what you need.

Hue is my favourite nude, Hug me is far too brown for me I'm light blonde hair and relatively fair.

capet · 04/05/2014 09:09

Oh I realise that I'll need to try them in real life but it's just to get an idea.
Going on hols in few days and plan to pick one up in duty free. So might not have time to ask one of the people at the counter if they're busy and there are what seems like a million shades so just trying to narrow it down and see what ones work for others!
Thanks again!

hue!! best shade ever!

NinetyNinePercentTroll · 04/05/2014 09:44

Nudes depend on your skin tone and the colour of your lips. One person's best nude might wash another out, or appear too pink, too brown etc. You need to try them to find yours.

NinetyNinePercentTroll · 04/05/2014 09:47

The one thing I will say is, the only MAC lipstick formulas I like are cremesheen & amplified. Both are comfortable & smooth on the lips and give a good colour that lasts well (ish) without drying/flaking/bleeding.

Dollydowser · 04/05/2014 09:53

I bought Midimauve after reading a similar thread a while back (I am fair skin and green eyes). Its a nice shade but doesn't stay on very long. Reading the label its says lustre, will look for the ones 99 recommends next time!

NinetyNinePercentTroll · 04/05/2014 09:55

Yes, lustre are like a glossy, sheer texture. Pretty but not very pigmented or (for want of a better word) thick.

andadietcoke · 04/05/2014 21:49

I love Hue and Modesty with Love Nectar over the top so they're not too matte. I line with Subculture.

bloomingheather · 04/05/2014 22:12

Twig, one of the Satin finish lipsticks is lovely and a good shade for me (fair complexion with auburn hair).

Cuteypatootey · 04/05/2014 22:25

High tea is also nice.
