Boden Autumn Preview

I see this is up - sorry, no good at linking from phone.

Have to say it's singularly uninspiring. Same old stuff. Too much frumpy. I wish they would give the ubiquitous loud Per Una ish prints a rest and have more subtle prints or plains.

No doubt I'll end up getting a few basics from there as usual, though.

No knitted dresses as yet, though they are one thing I do usually like.

I miss the v neck cropped cashmere cardies.

dexter73 · 30/04/2014 16:42

I like this yellow jumper but it would have to be at least half price before I considered buying it. That is it so far.

Orangeanddemons · 30/04/2014 16:44

Full of 3/4 sleeves again. Not ideal for winter.

flowery · 30/04/2014 16:46

I've ordered a couple of things.

I can only assume this was designed by someone's toddler.

Ujjayi · 30/04/2014 17:40

When this plinked into my inbox yesterday I became incredibly depressed. I do not want to preview autumn clothing when spring has only just begun.

This is a rant at stores in general too though - sodding summer sales are on in June and the winter coats are in a week later.

polyhymnia · 30/04/2014 18:01

That hotchpotch tee is indeed a monstrosity . Who buys something like that?

butterfliesinmytummy · 30/04/2014 18:05

Good God Boden, same old yawn....

butterfliesinmytummy · 30/04/2014 18:07

It looks the same as every previous year. Why can't they get mumsnetters to co-design a capsule collection. We could be the next Kate Moss Grin

OverAndAbove · 30/04/2014 18:17

There's a reasonable range of ponte dresses which can be very good for work, but the fit/shape is a bit hit and miss. I'll probably try a few though in different size and length combinations.

My eyes bled though when I saw this

That tee is awful as are most of thier prints in general. I have a wool jumper from them which I love, really soft and comfortable to to wear and I do like some of the plain stuff they do. Generally I think other shops do nicer clothes for the same or lower prices.

WipsGlitter · 30/04/2014 20:20

God flowery that is vile.

Milmingebag · 30/04/2014 20:47

Is it me or is the current inspiration for this collection -Alice from The Vicar of Dibley?

butterfliesinmytummy · 30/04/2014 20:59

Overandabove the model wearing that jumper looks drugged. Maybe that's why nothing appeals?

butterfliesinmytummy · 30/04/2014 21:02

Flowery the model in your hotchpotch tee is unconscious ... not sure what that says about it but maybe she just can't look at it....

Orangeanddemons · 30/04/2014 21:03

I always think their hotchpotch crap is made up of all the bits of left over fabric from the rest of their stuff.

I think there was some scary stuff in there.

flowery · 30/04/2014 21:29

"Flowery the model in your hotchpotch tee is unconscious"

Well you'd have to be wouldn't you, to allow yourself to be photographed wearing that...?

Grin
MaryWestmacott · 30/04/2014 21:53

There's a few nice things, but really not a lot. They do seem to have gone a bit mental with their patterns, who do they see wearing this stuff?

Plus it's annoying to put photos of the models in some colour ways in stuff on the preview, but not sell those colourways now. I suppose I'll just have to leave it a couple of months to see if they do sell those...

Hebburnisaplaceonearth · 30/04/2014 22:09

I automatically avoid anything from boden called 'hotchpotch' or 'fun' Grin

MaryWestmacott · 30/04/2014 22:12

Coconut - that's a bit special isn't it, you'd not bump into someone else wearing the same one in a hurry... (mind you, I do quite like the plain yellow - looks like i could be a lighthouse keeper in it...)

NearTheWindymill · 30/04/2014 22:14

Autumn preview. It isn't even summer yet - it's barely spring. No thank you - that turns me off even buying anything contemporaneous and I like Boden and it's frumpy aspect.

dexter73 · 30/04/2014 22:14

The pattern on that coat looks slightly anatomical to me Hmm

dexter73 · 30/04/2014 22:15

The pink one that is!!

SoFishy · 30/04/2014 22:16

I like the yellow one too, also like the new colours for the cashmere

But I think [http://www.bodenpreview.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Coats-Jackets/Coats/WE452/Womens-Rainy-Day-Mac?NavGroupID=2 this]] vagina-inspired design might be even more, erm "fun"!

SoFishy · 30/04/2014 22:17

Oops!
