Slightly too large shoes...insole or return?

I've bought these rather lovely loafers but the 6 was small and pinchy and the 7 fits but is slightly on the big side. They are leather.
Would an insole make them fit a bit more? Any recommendations? Or would you return Confused

You could try a full-foot leather insole, but this sort of compromise rarely ends well in my experience...

Send back, insoles slip and feel uncomfortable - you will wear the shoes unsatisfactorily once or twice and then they will languish in the back of your wardrobe for 2 years and then go to a charity shop.
Get your money back and find loafers that do fit - Russell and Bromley are a good bet for loafers.

Return. No point in actually starting with poorly fitting shoes.

Send them back. You'll find much better ones and be happy.

Thanks! After another try on I found one fit perfectly and is super comfy, the other is a teeny bit too big. Feet are slightly different sizes. I decided to keep them with an insole in the one that's slightly too big as they are so close to fitting. Thanks for all the advice though. If they had been far too big I'd have returned.
