I'm going to be in Milton Keynes tomorrow and planning on going to the MAC counter. Not been to one before, what should I try? Winter colouring, dryish/sensitive skin, skin is very good at the moment so not wearing foundation.

The girls at MAC will be able to advise you on the colours to wear. MAC have a tremendous amount of eyeshadows, lipsticks and blushers and it can be a bit overwhelming.

I hope you enjoy the experience there, but can I also say! Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier are good too.

As you have said if your skin is good and even, don't let them sell you foundation, I wish I was lucky enough to gave clear even skin where I didn't need to wear foundation. X

Ahh thank you, I've only been to MK once before (and not for shopping) so not totally familiar with the beauty hall options!

I love Mac apart from their foundation.

CMOTDibbler · 29/04/2014 18:39

If you tell the counter staff what sort of look you like, I've always found them to be really helpful.

I love their eyeshadow and liner, plus they have a sheerish lipstick thats really nice atm

I hate MAC foundation too, on me it's too yellow x

WillowMoo · 29/04/2014 19:26

I'll be thr one to even it up :-/ I LOVE their foundation, have recently switched from estee lauder double wear to studio fix nw13 which is a perfect shade for me being a pale-y. Haven't dabbled with any other mac makeup due to being skint but would love to try some of their eyeshadows.

EyelinerQueen · 29/04/2014 19:33

I love it too Willow.

Face and Body and Studio Sculpt are both great foundations and perfect for my pale skin (NW15).

Back to OP - you can't really go wrong with MAC eyeshadows, lipsticks and blushers. Brushes are amazing too.

The only things I've had from MAC and not rated are the liquid eyeliner, Mineralize powder and the Studio Fix concealer.

Great selection of lippies for pale complexions!
