Ps dame can I use the primer substitute each day do you know? Also how do you know all this amazi g stuff Maybe you check all the labels which I can't see as script too small. I have had Lancôme ladies telling me I neeeed their cream as skin so dry and I was reluctant to pay so much as it wd mean cutting back in other areas massively, are these product s ok for sensitive skin ? Thanks so much ! :)

I read beauty blogs,
apparently it's a well known secret among make up artists. There are also lots of sites which tell you 'dupes' for expensive products.

Yes,I use the lanacane everyday, I'm on my 4 th or so tube and I have very sensitive skin. It's better then any primer I've used and I've used loads of themSmile

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 30/04/2014 07:54

Eucerin is specifically for dry skin so you'll be fine, you get a huge tube for 13 quid which will last you ages.

Aldi restorative creams are excellent too, similar to Clarins, actually, better imo.

ginorwine · 30/04/2014 12:32

Thanks so much! Is the eu cerin for face as well as body ?

How do you use the lanacane. I hoped it would help my concealer stick to my massive spit but it did the opposite.

Lottapianos · 30/04/2014 12:56

Diet makes a difference too. Drink loads of water, cut down on caffeine, booze and sugar, eat good fats like avocados, nuts, olive oil every day

I have very dry skin and it loves Astral moisturiser in the day, Nivea at night. Can't get much cheaper than those two!

rabbithole · 30/04/2014 13:06

Is lanacane paraben and other nasties-free?

squoosh · 30/04/2014 13:07

Agree with moisturising from the inside out with good fats and also by taking a good fish oil supplement.

Oilatum Repair Cream is brilliant for very dry skin.

squoosh · 30/04/2014 13:08

Lanacane is basically silicone, so not a product for you if you're set on using all natural ingredients.

rabbithole · 30/04/2014 13:11

Thanks Squoosh :) will stick with my almond oil. It's not ideal as it means makeup goes a bit slidey, but it does work for my nose OP!

ginorwine · 30/04/2014 14:54

Lott a which Nivea do you use? Saw a programme and it came up as well rated but it seemed to be in a white tub not the traditional blue ?

OP posts:
Lottapianos · 01/05/2014 06:29

I use the traditional blue tub

Eliza22 · 01/05/2014 08:18

I bought Aveeno Cream (not the body moisturiser, the 100ml tube) for my son. One night, when we were away, I had no No7 Protect and Perfect so, I used his Aveeno. I now use it all the time. It really sorts dry/dehydrated skin and "plumps" the skin in a firming way, better than some high end products I've used for my 52 yr old face Smile

ginorwine · 02/05/2014 18:37

Eliza I looked at this today : two types so I bought the skin relief one : blue and neutral not green ; correct one?

OP posts:
Eliza22 · 02/05/2014 19:45

I bought one today. The one I use is called Aveeno Moisturising Cream with Colloidal oatmeal. 100 ml tube. £6.99p in Boots.
