Funky mid heel shoes

I'm being dragged out clubbing in a couple of weeks to celebrate a friend's 40th. I just don't really do heels but would like to wear something different and funky. Am thinking maybe a mid height heel, funky colour and design and preferably comfy! Any ideas where to look?!

Dune is your friend

TSSDNCOP · 27/04/2014 19:43

Funkier

TSSDNCOP · 27/04/2014 19:47

I am wearing these

I have crap feet and can't wear heels usually. These are lovely.

RiojaHaze · 27/04/2014 19:47

Different, funky and colourful!

Just been toying with buying these...

They're lovely Rain, I'm waiting for payday and going back for the lighter coloured ones.

How do those dune elastic wedges come up on size? I'm a 7.5 normally and not sure which to get...

Ruby Shoo? www.rubyshoo.com/

Definitely funky and heels are not too high. Always get compliments on mine.

Quick interruption......thanks for that link 50 I'm getting a pair of the dusky pink Alice ones.

Marking place for any more ideas.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 28/04/2014 07:02

The Dune ones look the best, IMO.

Legologgo · 28/04/2014 07:38

not the boo hoo ones pliz

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 28/04/2014 08:20

I must admit that I don't find the retro stuff funky.

Legologgo · 28/04/2014 08:23

i dont want funky clothes tbh

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 28/04/2014 09:32

The OP asked for "funky", but maybe she meant "cool" or another word like that. No, no funky for me, either, but I like the idea of looking modern or up to date. How on earth do you describe that without sounding like a tosser? I hate the stupid fashion speak that you see so much of, but at least I get what they are trying to say, whereas who I use plain English I'm not sure I'm describing things well [confused, gives up and gets another coffee]

RainDancer · 30/04/2014 13:48

When I say funky I mean unusual, a bit different, maybe even a little bit outrageous - maybe quirky would have been a better description.

Some of the suggestions are really lovely - but I wouldn't consider them mid-heel, they look like towering heels to me (or maybe I'm just getting old) !!!!

MissBlake · 30/04/2014 20:08

Love the dune ones.

RainDancer · 30/04/2014 21:33

I'm with you SunnyFeet!

Oh and that is exactly the sort of thing I was thinking of 50shades. Am now wondering whether wedges would be more comfy though - anyone seen any nice ones around?

WHY have I never heard of that RubyShoo website? Those shoes are awesome!

Jellypudmum · 30/04/2014 22:36

I am loving ruby shoos!!!

dizhin79 · 01/05/2014 04:18

Surely Irregular Choice is what you're after! V comfy and well made and v v v v quirky! www.irregularchoice.com lots of places stock them though so keep an eye out for them

RainDancer · 01/05/2014 10:29

Dizhin, you're right that Irregular Choice was exactly the thing I had in mind, but they don't have any mid heel options that just tickled my fancy at the moment - hence looking elsewhere. I've just purchased a pair of silver wedges from Boden - not as funky as Irregular Choice but a bit different and hopefully comfy. Thanks for your help ladies!
