Style my dress please!

I am going to a spring work party, and plan to wear this dress.

It is incredibly flattering, but I'm worried that it could border on the mumsy.

I'd really appreciate some styling ideas. I'm 37, 5ft1 and size 10 with brown hair, pale olive skin and dark eyes.

Definitely wear some sexy heels with it. Small clutch, don't take a big handbag. Pretty, delicate jewellery (I wouldn't wear anything chunky with that because of the print).

Could you do a nice updo for your hair? Is your hair straight, wavy or curly naturally?

I'm not very good with my hair; it's fine and slippery and tends not to stay where I put it! But maybe a good - modern - cut a few days before?

What sort of colours do you think for bag and heels? I have navy courts which at nice but not massively sexy.

Also pondering what to do about cover ups...

I would do something with your hair :) Anything that will look nicely styled. Nice, glossy and straight?

Are the heels you've got pointy, peep toe, or slingback? I think you need something like that to elevate the dress.

Not a pendant but some dinky earrings bit cheap and cheerful I grant you, just wondering if a delicate pendant would get lost against the fabric.

These are the shoes. They are a bit worky, aren't they.

I will try! The thing about keeping it down is that the second it gets blown about (very easily) it looks as though I've done nothing to it at all. Maybe I'll curl it, to give it more interest.

Very pretty earrings. Something blue would be good I think, I will have a look around.

The platforms are very cool but I think I'd break my ankle!
