Yes, yes, I should have used a base coat. No, I was lazy and I didn't.

I used a lovely teal nail varnish on my toes but on taking it off my toenails are stained a horrid bluey green. Any tips anyone (before the season for toe baring really gets underway...)

Excellent!

namechangenumber5 · 27/04/2014 11:59

My nails sometimes stain from polish, but it goes away in a bath soak or two and a week free of polish. How long has it been?

AnyFucker · 27/04/2014 12:01

I think neat bleach is not recommended (going off that link above) but I needed a quick result Smile

Bit of bleach and a green scrubby!

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 27/04/2014 12:36

give them a night off the polish and rub in some vaseline. works wonders on my fingernails.

AnyFucker · 28/04/2014 00:00

I have looked at said offenders this evening and they are looking much better

I shall base coat the fuckers tomorrow and never make this mistake again. I have learned my lesson Grin

No longer attached to your feet how?

To stain one's toes is unfortunate
To lose them completely is sheer carelessness...

MirandaWest · 28/04/2014 19:07

I have tael coloured toe nails. I didn't put a base coat on underneath. Am a little fearful...

AnyFucker · 28/04/2014 19:10

Oh dear, Miranda Grin

It was the neat bleach wot did it, coffeeinbed

Blimey.

I remember reading here that someone used bleach in her bathwater...I do worry about her toenails now.

GlaikitFizzog · 28/04/2014 19:17

Bleach didn't rid me of my blue hair, doubt it would work on yer nails AF.

Gelux nails?

GlaikitFizzog · 28/04/2014 19:18

Or would a gentle buffing take the top layer of nail?

AnyFucker · 28/04/2014 19:18

It's ok folks, it's sorted now Smile

Hi, recommend getting some denture dissolving fizzing tablets, put two or three in a bowel with warm water, soak feet hey presto! They are only 1 in our pound shop! also works for stained hands and left in loo overnight cleans all stains!
Hope this helps xx

dexter73 · 29/04/2014 09:25

I think I would rather have stained toenails than have to soak them in a bowel Shock!

ZingWatermelon · 29/04/2014 09:26

I see that it's sorted - good stuff - I use Veet cream when this happens, leave for a couple of minutes and then wash off. Works a treat and shinies up the cuticles too. Probably not to be recommended but works for me.

AnyFucker · 29/04/2014 20:15

Veet ?

I know this site has it's fair share of the hairy handed/toed but sheesh Grin

OP posts:
RubyReins · 01/05/2014 17:02

Grin I discovered it by accident when I dropped a bit of Veet on my toes! Formerly Rouge Noir stained tootsies were no longer marked. Yep, it's weird isn't it...?

mathanxiety · 01/05/2014 18:47

If it can do that to polish stains on toenails then what sort of steel wool am I sprouting on my legs Shock
