Primer for dry/sensitive skin?

I've tried a few primers but they just seem to mattify my skin, which isn't a good look! Don't really 'get' primers but a lot of people seem to think they are great. I don't know if they are better on oilier skins but I'd love to find one that made my skin look less blotchy/more dewy. Is there such a miracle product? ( I'm in my 40's so need a bit more help these days) :)

Any help gratefully received!

I like 5 sec blur by Garnier, makes my skin look better, doesn't irritate my eczema and it's not an eye watering price.

Have you tried the Lancane anti chaffing cream? Much recommended on here as a primer and I think it's great.
My skin isn't especially dry tho, so not sure about that. But it's very reasonable and worth a try!
