Who suits COS clothing?

Am I right in thinking it's all tailored for waiflike figures? I'm a 14, tried a few things on today, but everything made me look like I'd put on 2 stone: my waist disappeared and my bust looked like it had been corseted.

Depends. I have a couple of things from there that I absolutely adore, to the point I wish I'd bought duplicates as I dread the day they fall apart! I probably have to try on ten things to get one good one though. Am deffo not waif-like - am a busty size 10-12.

Tall Scandanavians IMO - or leggy blondes

I also have a couple of things from there but like Remus says its a lot of trial and error - am a curvy, short size 8. Wouldn't feel confident in buying from their website as too hit and miss.

I suit about 5% of their clothes (size 14 hourglass). I also agree with having to take armfuls of clothes to the changing rooms to find the one thing that will look good. Having said that, I recently tried on lots of dresses, and I could have bought almost all of them (if I wasn't trying to reign in my shopping).

QueenoftheWildThings · 22/04/2014 16:28

Yes! I went in today and tried on 5 different items and all of them looked like sacks on me. Am also size 14 hourglass. They look great on people with more angles than I have, I think.

MrsGarvey · 22/04/2014 16:30

I think they are very flattering for someone apple shaped - I am a tall hourglass and their stuff is hideous on me.

MrsBertMacklin · 22/04/2014 17:44

I can imagine Gwyneth Paltrow looking good in their things. Along with anyone who manages to make a low ponytail look sleek and stylish, whereas mine always look like 'I've put my hair out of the way while I do the dishes'.

They seem to (generally) only work for slim people, and anyone who can still look good without waist definition. But there are exceptions - I found a fab sweater in there once, and have a fab cashmere beanie from there that I wish I had bought in three colours.

I love Cos clothes but they cut very skimpily on the bust and shoulders Angry

TheJumped · 22/04/2014 21:18

I have curves and like Cos dresses because they sort of iron them out Grin tits and bum is not a good work look and I like the de-sexifying job Cos tunic-y dresses (worn with heels and makeup) do. I'm more bum than boobs if that makes a difference. Also their coats are always beautiful.

libertychick · 22/04/2014 22:10

I have lots from there and I am pear shaped. The trousers never work on me, tops, flared skirts and dresses (if long enough) all ok. Would never buy from the website.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/04/2014 22:58

SVK - that's weird: I find that they tend to come up really big across the shoulders.

ballseditup · 22/04/2014 23:19

I'm quote fat and I like their stuf
