Bra help in early pregnancy please!

Currently 7 weeks pregnant and now down to my last bra (a sports bra) which I'm close to bursting out of.

I used to be a 28F and had trouble finding cheap bras before they started growing but I'm on a very limited budget now so I don't know where to start.

Do I get measured again now or is it best to wait until later?

Is there anywhere I could get maternity/nursing bras that offer support, are cheap and hopefully are comfortable? (Being optimistic here Smile)

OK

First up - you don't need to wear non wired/nursing/maternity bras. It is actually totally safe to wear underwires in pregnancy so long as they fit well. That's the reason they don't advise it - because most people wear bras which don't fit.

Now, sizing; you will probably change again. Personally, I went up a bit right at the start, then sort of stayed fairly stable for most of my pregnancy cup wise, then went up again towards the very end. I think I bought bras about 6-7 weeks, and again about 7-8 months but everyone is different

When buying a bra in pregnancy, it's the one time that you buy it so it fits on the tightest hook, rather than the loosest - it gives you a bit of room to cope with rib expansion!

Can you measure yourself as described here and we can work out what size to start with just now. How is the back on your 28 at the moment?

Thanks for the reply, i just need to find my tape measure (it's not where I left it!) and I'll measure myself and get back to you.

The band is feeling a little tight, the underwire and back of my normal bras were digging in on the loosest hooks.

Glad to hear I can still wear underwire though, last pregnancy I ended up in mother care maternity bras which did nothing for me at all!

Stay well away from mothercare, they are godawful! They seem to think every pregnant woman must be at least a 36 back too.

Hi, sorry it took me so long. Measured myself today but still came out as a 28F so clearly I haven't grown as much as I feel like I have! Took a trip to bravissimo to check and bought a pj top with built in non-wired bra in a 28F - Never known anything to be so comfortable! I've had to order some non-wired bras as they didn't have any in my size but fingers crossed they will fit and be more comfy.

Thank you so much for your help, much appreciated.

You'll probably need to get re measured again after your dc is born. A visit to m&s was one of my first trips out! Didn't think I could get any bigger then I did. Also a year down the line - still bf twice a day - I've changed again, and likely will again when I stop. Never had to buy so many flipping bras!
