I can't stop wearing my Clarks brogues Doctrine - back in them today after killing my feet in ballet shoes yesterday. Was considering heels but couldn;t be bothered with the faff of wearing trainers on tube and changing at office.

Belinda Massimo Dutti on Regents St is still closed if you are thinking of going there. Walk past it every week waiting for it to re-open, it just says "soon".

Lurking, the Mango trews did stretch a bit but in a way that just made you feel slimmer as the day progressed. I may try them in a size smaller though but quite a relief to be able to stuff face with cake...

I am wearing the blue pleated knee-length skirt I got from J-Crew today with a bright yellow Cos jumper. The skirt is very versatile and am loving the pleats. Saw a similar one in & Other stories in black.

Thanks for that info re Mango trousers Stokey. Your skirt sounds lovely. If you get a mo, will you link?

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 08/05/2014 14:35

Stokey - thanks! I will go to another MD, then. I really need to do a Trying It On post from there as they do wonderful workwear but their website is one of the worst ones - miniscule photos. PLUS they usually ask me not to take photos on the shop floor. Its like its a secret as to what their clothes actually look like.

noddyholder · 08/05/2014 14:51

Its funny how some shops won't let you take a picture. I have no blog or anything and was trying to take one in comptoir and they weren't happy and it was just a snap to show a friend a colour!

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 08/05/2014 14:59

I have thought through all their concerns and it doesn't make any sense to me at all. I cannot think of a good reason to stop people taking photos in stores. I have not been given a good / sensible reason, either. Not that the SA is the right person to take it up with, though.

Stokey · 08/05/2014 15:09

Sure Lurking this is my skirt, picked up in the sale, so it looks like the navy has gone.

Here is the & Other Stories one. It comes up smaller, I've got a 2 in the J-Crew and would have needed a 38 in & Other Stories as could only just do the 36 up.

lurkingaround · 08/05/2014 16:45

Thanks Stokey. I had seen that skirt at the weekend, I think they had an extra 30% off then. It is lovely. Great for summer. I'm quite hippy; do the pleats not fan out? I have a horror of my hips looking larger than they already are. What is a 2 in English?

Stokey · 08/05/2014 16:52

Lurking a 2 is the equivalent of a UK 6 but I am not a 6 in any other shop. I'm normally an 8/10 depending on the shop.

I'm quite hippy too but don't think it accentuates too much, the pleats seem to stay straight.

30HAPPY FOR 30% OFF AT BANANA REPUBLIC, UNTIL MIDNIGHT

KosherBacon · 08/05/2014 17:07

LaTrucha- thanks for the 7/8 M&S trouser tip, but alas they are not to be for me. They fit on the thigh but were all gaping in the groin. A size down would have been skin tight on the thighs. I ended up buying some wide legs. Not very modern but at least they aren't boot cuts!

M&S had a fun emerald green blazer reduced in the sale, but unfortunately only in size 8s when I looked today. I'd quite like to try it out.

EduardoBarcelona · 08/05/2014 17:20

Love that animal print top - is it scratchy, like the M&S linen ones?

EduardoBarcelona · 08/05/2014 17:30

blinners that textured top you liked in BR - how big was it?

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 08/05/2014 17:33

30HAPPY doesn't work on shoes. Which is all I wanted to buy today. Sad

EduardoBarcelona · 08/05/2014 17:33

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 08/05/2014 17:33

Let me check my photos re the textured top...

EduardoBarcelona · 08/05/2014 17:33

titflaps to that Belinda, I have ordered The Shorts

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 08/05/2014 17:34

I got some second hand not your daughters jeans for £38 today. I am very happy, they are in great condition (and only about 3in too long!)

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 08/05/2014 17:50

This is me in the textured top in size 4, so it's roomy. Remind me to photoshop my knackeredness away before posting pics. Oh well.

those shorts will be wonderful! Yella top is linen and I just crush linen so badly.

Hmm, maybe I should get the shorts. So annoyed that's shoes aren't inc.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 08/05/2014 17:52

We went back to dial up speed for a bit, just then. That gives me the rage - hurry up internets.

EduardoBarcelona · 08/05/2014 18:20

love the dress.
Right I tried the linen on, I too am not generally a fan but love the look for weekends etc with jeans
the white one looks meh the animal one ( almost sold out in store) is REALLY nice
I thought long and hard to assess scratchiness and I think they are ok.
