The perfect vest top....

....does it exist?? Where can I buy a vest top with enough Lycra so that it doesn't go baggy within an hour of putting it on, isn't cut too low in front, under the arms or at the back and with thick enough straps to cover a bra strap? It appears to be impossible Hmm

H and M. Perfect vests IMO, 3.99 I think.

Sainsbury's Tu range - they do some without lycra, but get the lycra ones. I've been wearing them for a few years now and they are just brilliant. Nice and long too.

thepurplepenguin · 17/04/2014 09:05

I agree with bill, H&M. I rebuy every season in black, grey and a variety of colours.

burnishedsilver · 17/04/2014 09:20

Primark. They're a little inconsistent. Some weeks they're great. Other weeks they're a bit thin. They seem to have a high turnover so its worth checking back.

These are fab. They cover my bra, and are that kind of stretch that you have to pull quite firmly? Come in different colours too

I would always have said H&M but the last one I bought from there has gone really baggy. I also have that matalan one and it's huge! I wanted a long one but that comes down nearly to my knees!!

goodasitgets · 17/04/2014 15:13

I'm really tall but yes it's thigh length on me, I sort of gather it up a bit Grin

OwlCapone · 17/04/2014 15:52

I like Esprit vests.

Nocomet · 17/04/2014 16:31

I have a nice pink H&M one, guess it would cover bra straps, I use it as a PJ top.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/04/2014 20:23

I bought a UNIQLO Airtech vest top with bra support - camisole but they have proper vest tops.
Eye-watering £14.99 but I've recycled my last year Primark Hidden Support ones so I'm hoping this fits the bill.

JohnCusacksWife · 17/04/2014 23:21

It seems such a simple thing but I've yet to find the perfect vest! I'll check out the Matalan ones tomorrow as there's a store v near me...although I'm only wee so think it might look more like a dress than a vest!

Uniqlo good, fit well under arms and do not bag. A good range of colours too.

TheNewSofa · 17/04/2014 23:26

Dorothy perkins and next

Quodlibet · 17/04/2014 23:33

Gap has a good selection and they wear and wash well, much better than H and M.
I've also had some lovely ones from Intimissimi.

permaquandry · 17/04/2014 23:39

H&M, without a doubt, have one on now, a year old, wear at least once a week, still good as new.

50ShadesOfSummer · 18/04/2014 07:41

I often size down in vests to avoid the sagging you mention. As for showing bra straps - I think it's inevitable with most vests. Let them show and stop worrying.

AgathaF · 18/04/2014 07:57

That site has some lovely things on Quodlibet.

Sizzlesthedog · 18/04/2014 08:38

Fat face do a good one, well I'm pleased with it. Longish, not to low I the front and high at the back. Crochet panel at the back of neck. Doesn't show bra straps either. Can't link, but is called "lace back vest" £18.

eurochick · 18/04/2014 08:39

Gap.

balenciaga · 18/04/2014 08:45

Yy to h&m

By far the best

OwlCapone · 18/04/2014 09:02

I disagree. I used to like H&M vests but found better elsewhere. I found them too short and had a tendency to sag.
