New capsule wardrobe plus stunning outfit needed

I have finally lost the weight I gained over the last 3 years while very ill and my hair has grown post chemo and am about to have it coloured.

So, I have clothes that fit like nice jeans and other things but they are a few years old. What I'd like is to add in some new things to update my look - getting several things now then gradually adding in others. I want some tops - basics plus 'going out' type. I want a dress. A skirt. And something stunning as an outfit to wear to an event that I last rant to post chemo, bald and fat. Want something that really shows of my newly found figure. Would like to look sexy. Maybe shoes and sandals too. Love ballet flats but not finding comfy ones. Don't wear heels.

I am 56, have newly curly hair, will be coloured in ash tones, am 5 foot 1 and a half and a 10 top, 8 bottom.

All ideas gratefully received style gurus!

Where do you normally shop?

I've been buying a new wardrobe since having kids etc meant I lost weight.

I found department stores good as I didn't know my size in anything and its great to have all the shops in one places. Also, I'm into different labels these days - just bought a few things in Hobbs for the first time, I also like phase eight, petite minuet - never ventured in these places before!

Try the one hour complimentary stylist session at John Lewis to give you ideas regarding colours & styles which suit you now.

You can then use their ideas as a template when shopping around in the future.

Sorry, should have said it has to be online shopping. Have disabled daughter so stick at home most of the time and also live a long way from shops. Otherwise I would love to go to a store and gave personal shopper!

Always used to buy Hobbs, LK Bennett , Banana Republic, plus mix of other high street stores. Used to commute to London and had fab choice of shops.

Oh dear I just saw your post regarding your travel restrictions. Have a look online at Next & all the shops that you used to shop in as they often have a wider range & web only offers.

fauxfox these are fab! Thank you . I would never have thought of house of Fraser! Hoping beyond hope that we can get a carer in to look after dd who cannot be left alone.

Never worn maxi but if they are petit, might have a go

Anybody else any stunning outfit recommendations? Want to look amazing as last time I looked and felt like crap. Having been living in leggings and white stuff tunics for comfort I now want to embrace my figure!
