Jacket opinions please!

Is this nice or a bit tacky looking? I can't decide. I want something like this for the summer - for a cool day or more likely, school runs when it's chucking rain down. Would possibly favour red over navy so as I wouldn't end up in shades of blue from top to bottom but then have seen a lovely scarf which would look nice with the navy ... then again, with the stripey lining, it might look naff with a scarf.

Defo not tacky looking. Perfectly nice coat that seems to fit the bill for what you want. Middle of the road - not boring, not exciting, just a good solid all rounder!!

I've seen this jacket in the flesh, it's very nice but for me it was way too stiff - like a coated heavy canvas. Great shade of red though.

Ive tried that on as well and I agree with BearPear...its really stiff (not something Id usually complain about though!).

I got the Roxanne instead which is also by Fatface which looks much better on than it does online.

It's nice and a fab colour.I looked at a few fat face jackets and,have to say (sorry) that the Rosanne/Roxanne was attracting all the old biddies so put me off!I did get a similar style elsewhere though

Thanks for the feedback everyone - no harm in ordering it to see what it's like, although I hope the stiffness of the fabric wont be an issue. Foxy, your 'good, solid all-rounder' comment is spot-on and describes exactly what I'm after. TripTrap - thanks for that - will see whether I can also find a promo code but they seem almost impossible to find these days.

I got it about a fortnight ago. I love it. It was stiff to start with but has softened up. I got it for pretty much the reasons you're thinking OP, and red too to avoid bring a big lump of blue when I am in jeans (most of the time). I wouldn't wear it for work, just a bit to casual. I gave a red Fatface duffle coat that I wear all winter, this is my summer version. In adventurous like that.

Update! Jacket arrived this morning and it is perfect! Lovely shade of red, fits really well, good length, the fabric is a bit stiff but not that I'd have remarked on. A keeper! Thanks everyone for your opinions!

I saw these jackets in matalan- look like a good budget version of fatface ones here. It has a sort of waxed finish. Think I saw it in pale blue in store as well.

I have that Matalan one,it's much better than the Rosanne/Roxanne at fatface and nips in at the waist too.

I have the lighter,brighter blue which completely sold out online-was lucky to stumble across one instore!The navy and red have been very popular too and have only just restocked online after selling out.
