Apologies for the DM link but here goes :

www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2603870/Kate-Moss-plants-kiss-original-playboy-theatre-impresario-Michael-White-presents-special-award-2014-Olivier-Awards.html

I think she still looks great but this picture really illustrates the extent to which all the magazine pics and ads are basically photoshopped the shit out of, aren't they !!? I mean, I always realised that, but still ! I've seen KM in magazine ads recently and there is not a mark on her face. She still looks radiant here, even with the lines around her eyes, but wouldn't it be so bloody refreshing if you saw more of this in the magazines. She's not 20 anymore, as this pic demonstrates, so why make her look like a 20yr old in the ads ? These companies really do think we're as thick as shit don't they ?

Exactly, Wordfactory, I really hope she remembers enough to write her memoirs one day, that would be a fab read.

lottieandmia · 15/04/2014 20:37

Hardly surprising that this was in the Daily Mail!

IfNotNowThenWhen · 15/04/2014 21:03

I love her outfit too, and would wear it myself!

Maisie0 · 15/04/2014 21:14

I just get the feeling that she is now into the fashion business and truly embedded into it. No doubt about that.

A look into the industry. It is not real. It is all marketing.

GrassIsSinging · 15/04/2014 22:21

Stupid, poisonous Mail.

My twompennies worth: She will always look good because of her amazing bone structure. i can imagine her being a beautiful, striking 75 yr old.
She is quite lined for a 40 yr old, but thats because she spends half of her life boozing and smoking on the beach. Lucky woman! Grin

squoosh · 15/04/2014 22:25

She's friends with Anita Pallenberg, a woman who wears her past (and possibly current!) rock and roll lifestyle on her face. I think Kate is more likely to choose to go this route too.

I can't see her wanting to follow Madonna's attempts at holding back the years. And hurray to that.

Floisme · 16/04/2014 07:10

I know The Mail have done this for the worst possible reasons but I still think it's great to see a beautiful woman with lines on her face. I much prefer this photo to the one in this month's Vogue where she looks like a Thunderbird puppet.

bettykt · 16/04/2014 07:41

I think Kate looks great and she's smart too in the fact that she hasn't butchered her face to buggery because she knows she'll be airbrushed to within an inch of her life in professional photo shoots. Clever girl. Apart from the dodgy episode with drugs and Pete Doherty I say she's lived her life well and has enjoyed the spoils that her wealth brings, wouldn't we all?

Fairyliz · 16/04/2014 14:41

Can I just ask why you all 'love' Kate Moss? Serious question as she has made loads of money not by working hard, or having an amazing intellect, but just through the accident of birth that she looks good. On top of that the suggestion is she has done drugs /drinks too much. Is that the role model we want for our daughters?

squoosh · 16/04/2014 14:46

I don't think she's ever positioned herself as a role model for people's daughters.

dexter73 · 16/04/2014 14:46

I can like someone without them wanting to be a role model for my daughter! I like her because she looks fun and keeps her life private.

MarshaBrady · 16/04/2014 14:57

I like her because she is (or was - still good though) almost impossible looking and very beautiful of course. She did a long spell without any interviews which was a good way to go.

I wouldn't look to her as a role model, but that's not what she's there for.

noddyholder · 16/04/2014 15:07

Role model? Not everyone wants to be one. I like that she lives her life on her terms.

Just as magazines photoshop celebs to make them look better, they will photoshop them to make them look worse. It depends which angle will sell more.

The DM is well known for doing this.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 16/04/2014 15:30

I think she looks great BUT she's older than 40 as she was in the same class as my mate's dh at school and he is much older than 40 Grin

FiscalCliffRocksThisTown · 16/04/2014 15:35

Oh Dame, how old?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 16/04/2014 15:39

iirc she's at least 3 years older than she says she is. I'll have to check with friend. I remember laughing my socks off when she told me Grin

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 16/04/2014 15:42

Can I just ask why you all 'love' Kate Moss?

Because she has lived her life exactly as a male celebrity would live theirs - unapologetically and with a surprising amount of privacy. She is old school and discreet.

Serious question as she has made loads of money not by working hard, or having an amazing intellect, but just through the accident of birth that she looks good.

Plenty of people look good - it doesn't bring you money on its own. How many models have a 25 year career and are at the peak of it at 40?

On top of that the suggestion is she has done drugs /drinks too much.
That's not a suggestion - that is fact.

Is that the role model we want for our daughters?
No, who said they wanted her as a role model for their daughter.
That said, out of all fashion models I would rather Kate Moss be a role model than most of them.

Lighthousekeeping · 16/04/2014 16:36

I'm not surprised she's older. They all take afew years off their ages. I guess that means her earlier topless shoots are less shocking now that we know she wasn't as young as we thought.

noddyholder · 16/04/2014 16:40

Is she really older? I am not sure she is.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 16/04/2014 16:43

I imagine it was to make her 15 rather than 12 when she was discovered. There must be a reason behind it. Pretty sure my mate's dh wouldn't lie about it, he'd have no reason to.

squoosh · 16/04/2014 16:44

She doesn't seem to be the sort to lie about her age. Remember she threw a 30th birthday party that made the tabloids blush.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 16/04/2014 16:44

Oh no ignore my last post - I have that the wrong way round! Lighthouse has got it right! Blush Grin

Lighthousekeeping · 16/04/2014 17:16

I nearly fainted then!
