need your help bra ladies please

So I posted last weekend as I don't like the way I look and I was unsure about a dress I've ordered for d b wedding. I need to look ok. I had some very kind comments but it was rightly pointed out that my bra didn't do anything for me. The photo was taken first thing in my nursing sleeping bra Blush

I'm still feeding dd and my boobs are wrecked from feeding. I'm empty up top and a previous visit to John Lewis reduced me to tears as the lady said I was an odd shape - too empty, ribs too wide - for them to be able to offer me anything. I think I may need a balcony shape to lift everything up and to avoid the gaping. Using the intervention method I think I am a 32g.

So are there any brands you suggest which would look good under the dress? I hate my body so I'm going to buy a control slip as suggested on the other thread but will still be able to wear a bra. It needs to be fairly easy access for feeding, but not a nursing bra. I want to feel nice.

Thank you

I'm sure more bra people will be along Smile
But how about a plunge type? Like the Freya deco or bravissimo Satine

CMOTDibbler · 15/04/2014 15:15

I'd suggest a half cup - I am wide set and bottom heavy of nork and they look great.
A M&S 'wear your own bra' control slip would work great.

I'd take slip and dress to Bravissimo and get the lovely ladies to help you.

Fab dress btw, was thinking of buying that one!

Wide boobs and empty due to breast feeding normally suggests curvy Kate showgirls, bravissimo half cups, Freya patsy half cup, tutti rouge anything, Cleo juna, Cleo maddie

Thank you. Is there one place I can go to try on all of these brands or is it a case of a massive figleaves order?

I find bra shopping terribly upsetting as I'm reminded of my past figure that will never come back..

But yes that m&s control slip was the one that I had my eye on, it looks a bit more comfy than spanx.

Will have a look and see where the nearest bravissimo is. But like I say I find the whole experience quite traumatic!

Bravissimo will stock the majority of those - they don't stock that much curvy kate but they do have some. They're your best bet by a mile.

You have a good figure. Lovely waist and good legs. You look good in the dress. You have a similar bra size to me. Bravissimo Alana bra and also Freya deco are my favourites. Both give very good uplift.

I'd order loads from bravissimo and send some back if no good :)

Nearest bravissimo is in Reading, which is about an hour or so from us. Think they have a HoF and JL too do I can combine all of the wedding shopping (still have shoes and bag to get).

I do like the look of some of those bras you have all suggested especially the freya and Cleo ones. Just hope they can salvage something of my chest.

The dress is lovely CMOTDibbler - I don't do it justice really at all.

Sorry and just to ask, are bravissimo good at fitting, or will I have another humiliating experience like I did at John Lewis?

My experiences at Bravissimo have been very positive, they are really good at fitting and have not batted an eyelid about my somewhat destroyed from feeding norks.

I am fairly empty on top too, am currently in a Panache Idina, which is really comfy, would also highly recommend the half cup bras such as Bravissimo's Hearts Amour bra, and their Rococo Charm.

For what it's worth I think you've got a lovely figure and the dress looks great.

StatisticallyChallenged · 15/04/2014 20:30

Bravissimo are excellent at fitting, there will not be a tape measure in sight. They will look at your current bra and bring through some to try on, and they will basically keep doing that until they find something that a really good fit.
