Swimming costume recommendations please

I'm trying to find a swimming costume but I'm quite a difficult body shape to buy for. So I thought you lot might be able to help.

I am tall, so a lot of costumes are a bit on the short side.
I am overweight (size 16-18, not massive but I have a flabby belly) so a tankini which would sort out the height problem would also let people see my flabby bits which I don't want.
I also have big boobs (36GG) so I want to have some proper support so they stay in the right place.

I'm wanting it for actually swimming in, not for holidays so I'm not particularly bothered what it looks like.
I've tried a few places but I can't seem to manage to get everything I need for a good fit and I really need to before my old one gets any baggier/more threadbare.

Thanks

maybe try some of these - Im a tall swimmer too with boobs - you might have to order a few sizes. Or try wiggle.com for similar as they do free returns.

Lands End 'tugless'

You sound like me! I posted a few days ago about this, and found quite a few nice ones. Have a look in the debenhams sale, I ordered 3 lands end ones from there (they are really expensive otherwise). And the twist front swimsuit at boden, and finally one from bravissimo. Out of all them I like the lands end ones the best, I'm 5"10 with big boobs and they were plenty big/long enough.

Thanks everyone. I've looked at the landsend website and looked at their sizing chart. I normally wear a size 16-18 in all my clothes (16 bottom half, 18 top half normally) but Lands end think my measurements make me a size 22 Shock They do seem to be the only place that tells me the length of the body as well as the size, so I'll order a few different styles and sizes to see what fits.

I have this. I have postnatal flab and am a size 16 but it's very flattering and I think I look good in it. It looks like a tankini but has a stomach control thing underneath it so it doesn't ride up and flash my flab! It's got ruching to hide the bumpy bits and longer legs so there is no bum cheek on display Grin

I've taken a photo of the inside of mine to show you what the stomach control but looks like. It looks orange on the photo but it's a nice red colour, the flash did strange things to it. Makes my boobs look amazing too Blush

I also have this one, looks good one but is very expensive and does the same job as the peacocks one, it's an all in one swimsuit.

And I have this one which is crap lose 10lb in 10 seconds my arse! it seems to highlight my flabby stomach and my boobs look saggy as anything as there is no support in it at all.

And I also have this one - item number 371004054992 on eBay. Looks a bit dodgy but hides the lumps and bumps well and creates a waist which normally I don't have. The second photo is me wearing it just so you can see how it looks (I'm 5'5 13st 13lb on this photo and a size 16 if that helps)

(I have no idea why it's so smeary on the photo!)

Thanks Inspiration. How does it hold up to doing proper swimming? I've never had a halterneck style because I'm terrified it would come undone as I'm swimming along.

The seem pretty secure, the blue spotty one has a bra clip on the back as well as the halter neck. The red and black ones are both pretty moulded in the cups which seem to hold me in. The red is underwired, I can't remember off the top of my head whether the black one is. The black is more discreet than the red, the cups seem to come higher. My boobs are a 36GG for comparisons sake.

I spent weeks trying on swimsuits as I am going away next month and didn't want to feel embarrassed around the pool. I've not done any proper speed swimming in them, just pootled along, I don't know how they would hold up to a front crawl rather than a 'not getting your hair wet breast stroke' Grin I think they are probably aimed more at being flattering rather than functional (I just the re read your OP and realised you wanted to do proper swimming sorry!)
