I hate my hair!

My toddler is 2yrs 4 months and since he was a few months old my hair started falling out. I went to the doctors and he did a thyroid blood test and every thing came back normal.

My hair is now REALLY thin and I never wear it down because it looks awful. When I wash my hair I still have loads of hair in the plughole. IT'S STILL FALLING OUT AND MY TODDLER IS 2! I envy other women who have long thick hair. I can't tie it in a pony tail because the hair band doesn't grip it, I have to wear it in a bun as best as possible and use loads of hair spray to stick the wispy bits of hair down.

I've tried different shampoo's and I take a multi vitamin with iron. Has anyone got any tips or treatments I can try to help thicken my hair and make it grow faster?

I would like another baby within the next couple of years but don't want to go through hair loss again. Is there anything I can do or to prevent hair loss next time?

I'm so depressed with how my hair looks, I hate it.

Have you had your iron/ferritin levels tested? I had hair thinning for 2 years after my last baby was born. Thyroid tests came back borderline, but not warranting treatment. My iron was very low though. Got iron supplements and took a B vitamin complex for 6 mnths and it worked wonders.

My hair is still thinner around the hairline and I have to be very kind to it - no pulling it back tightly or over-drying/styling, but my hair is noticeably thicker and healthier and I dont have that crazy hairloss in the shower. Worth a shot?

Thanks for your reply x. I could go back to the doctor to be re-checked. I do take a iron supplement with multi vitamin, would this be enough to up my iron level or would I need an extra strong supplement do you think? I used to take spatone iron supplement when I was pregnant but stopped after baby was born. I think my multi vitamin has B vitamin in it. Can you give me the 'brand' of vitamins/supplements you take?

When I wash my hair these days, I just wash it, dry it, and tie it back. I don't try and do anything nice with it because it looks awful.
