Everyday Hand Bag?

Can anyone suggest a nice handbag up to £50? Ideally it would be quite roomy but not too big to go round town or out for a casual evening. Would prefer a strap long enough to cross over body if need be, and not black (tend to avoid black bags after having my handbag swapped and nicked in a pub and I didn't notice until it was too late).

Or Next who have some ok bags at the moment including one 'inspired' by the Chloe Marcie...it's in several colours.
I was almost tempted on a shopping trip with my mum on Friday; it would be useful for summer, dealing with sunscreen stains and wipes and wallets, and glasses and all the other paraphernalia of summer days out. With no fear for ruination.

River island do some great bags; £20-£40. I still get compliments on the slouchy orange cross body bag i got from there- five years ago!
I've also had luck at tk maxx.
