Can I justify buying this chiffon top?

I am wondering whether to buy this top. It's quite expensive for just a chiffon blouse, with delivery in addition. However I think it will be really versatile.

What do you think? Will it last? Has anyone actually got it??

I think that's lovely

I think it would be very versatile and could be dressed up or down

I'm very tempted now myself...I bought a cheap leopard print blouse the other day from asda (£12) and I (surprisingly) really liked the look and got loads of flattering comments when I wore it for the first time

Would probably get loads more wearing that, is it machine washable?

SuburbanCrofter · 13/04/2014 10:50

Good question Rufus, under wash care it just says 'care label'. Is that a sneaky way of saying 'dry clean only'?? Hmm

It's polyester ?

SuburbanCrofter · 13/04/2014 11:04

It's '100% PLSE UPD' apparently! Grin I'm guessing that means polyester. Does that mean I can or can't wash it??

Well that's not very helpful!

If it's polyester that would be machine washable on gentle wouldn't it?

Probably got that wrong, I'm always getting caught out. I keep buying stuff that's hand wash only!

QueenCadbury · 13/04/2014 11:07

I put poly in the washing machine but put the items in a bag as they are prone to snagging. £42 is a lot of a poly blouse so you could either hold out for a sale or discount code but if you love it you risk that it may sell out.

QueenCadbury · 13/04/2014 11:07

They may have it in john Lewis so if you have a local waitrose you could click and collect.

SuburbanCrofter · 13/04/2014 11:21

Good idea Queen - I looked on John Lewis to see if it was there (can't get to a Waitrose unfortunately). It wasn't, but there were plenty of similar blouses and they all said machine wash.

I also saw this: [http://www.johnlewis.com/oasis-bird-print-drape-sleeve-top-multi/p1355317]]

What d'you reckon??

Depending on your shape that could work, good colours

I have big boobs so

A. Finding a shirt that fits can be a pain

B. High necked tops give me a mono boob

SuburbanCrofter · 13/04/2014 11:27

I'm small boobed, so boat necks actually work really well for me. I think I'm leaning towards it. It's a bit more demure than the other, but I think with skinnies and high heels it'll still look glam enough.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/04/2014 12:17

I'm small boobed and I like boat necks with 3/4 length sleeves because it draws attention to my wrists.

I think the bird one is more versatile because you could put it with white or pale blue skinnies and look very summery.

Mrswellyboot · 13/04/2014 12:20

Oasis tops always last, I find.

I have some from three years ago. I wash at 30' perfect

SuburbanCrofter · 13/04/2014 12:51

Great - ordered the bird one!

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/04/2014 13:03

I think that I'd get more wear out of that one.

bishboschone · 13/04/2014 13:45

Our local dept store has oasis and always has offers on , could you try one near you?

MincingOnBy · 13/04/2014 13:51

Second one is nicer

ihatethecold · 13/04/2014 14:03

I bought a lovely one from Dorothy Perkins.
It's polyester so I can only wear it once before I have to wash it.
It makes my armpits sweaty.
Nice!

RufusTheReindeer · 13/04/2014 15:40

Oooh ihate same with my bargain asda one

I had a beautiful beach coverup...I stank like a dead thing after one day in it!

So is it just 100% polyester stuff that does that?

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/04/2014 15:47

Man made fibres do hold the "glow", obviously ladies don't sweat so we don't need cotton tops Sad.

No one told my sweat glands though.

SuburbanCrofter · 13/04/2014 16:30

I do normally go for natural fibres - but I figure I'll only be wearing this for a few hours for a night out, then I can wash it Grin
