Size 14 bloody apple shape. Good legs. Fat belly. Budget £250. No idea. Can't do sleeveless.

I love the mint velvet dress.

Legologgo · 13/04/2014 22:05

marks are doing a nice red one ( lace ) I saw in store so might be a bit ubiqitous

Legologgo · 13/04/2014 22:05

chirst dont do bloody vintage
you will look like a big blimp

Lighthousekeeping · 13/04/2014 22:14

The Mint Velvet one is gorgeous but, I can't wear those pale colours. I'll look insipid.

I have this in black. I'm a similar size and shape to you at present.

It looks amazing.

MarianForrester · 13/04/2014 22:27

I love that DVF one. Can't do shift dresses myself, but that really makes me wish I could.

What about a bee dress ?

Fab shoes and your done hair and make up?

Legologgo · 13/04/2014 22:31

One word - bacofoil

Lighthousekeeping · 13/04/2014 22:31

Is the bee dress too wintery?

OP posts:
RhondaJean · 13/04/2014 22:45

Lego, you can either carry biba off or you can't...

Legologgo · 13/04/2014 22:46

Acwedfing

RhondaJean · 13/04/2014 22:46

The bee one is boring! I like jaeger but that's a work dress, not a wedding one.

Legologgo · 13/04/2014 22:46

Shit. A wedding though! In silver foil?

RhondaJean · 13/04/2014 22:48

The word wagtastic appeared in the thread title.

You can either try to be subtle or take them on.

The style and cut is very flattering.

Lighthousekeeping · 13/04/2014 22:54

It's a dress I may buy but not for a wedding. I'd wear it for lunch with the girls. I like it but I need something abit more blinging for this do,

OP posts:
RhondaJean · 13/04/2014 23:03

Is that the jaeger one lighthouse?

Lighthousekeeping · 13/04/2014 23:13

Yes. I love it but would really have to liven it up.

OP posts:
RhondaJean · 13/04/2014 23:15

It's naice but boring.

You need something - more.

Biba is my go to brand for show stopper dresses. I love this coast one too.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 14/04/2014 08:38

Another vote for the Mint Velvet dress. I might go for a blingy clutch, if it was a very WAG-y wedding, but why change your style and buy a dress that you don't actually really like and would never want to wear again?

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/04/2014 08:47

How about hiring a dress off girl meets dress?

They let you hire several & pay for the worn one iirc.

Probably should have though of that last night.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 14/04/2014 11:06

I would either go with the DVF (because I have an apple friend who looks fantastic in that type of dress) or with the Mint Velvet one, which may create a bit of a waist impression too!

I also third the do not touch vintage/50's dresses! They would make you look really odd and a waist is needed for them.I like them partly because they suit my curves but also because they slim my legs.If you're an Apple you have slim legs an they'd end up looking even slimmer while the rest will look bigger and bulky

You need fab heels and a clutch now!

Lighthousekeeping · 14/04/2014 12:08

Sorry Rhonda I was talking about the bed dress needing livening up. I would not go out for lunch in the jaeger one! Grin i do like it though. I'm going to HOF next week.

Lighthousekeeping · 14/04/2014 12:11

OMG the jaeger for lunch the Biba to part. I'm really not with it!

Watching with interest as I am attending a wagtastic wedding in June. My figure sounds very similar to yours but with the added problem that I am 5'9" (so can't do maxi dresses) and my budget is only £100.
