fat flapper......................

I need some help!

I need a flapper/Gatsby/1920's outfit and I am a size 20-22 (Blush)
It is proving difficult, very difficult! I don't have the luxury of fabulous legs so at least on the knee dress wise. Also it needs to be fairly robust to last the night, some of the specific fancy dress outfits seem a bit flimsy.
I am totally the wrong shape for this, I have hips and an ample chest.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have searched and pondered and have drawn a blank. (insert begging emoticon here)

Thank you all in anticipation of your wisdom and creativity.

Try amazon...I got a lovely flapper dress from there and they had a huge range of shapes & sizes

I think that your link could work, OP, maybe with some sort of feathery head accessory?

WipsGlitter · 12/04/2014 16:29

Your link looks great!

Could maybe get away with this styled with very long beads and a lace headband round your head...

I think your link would work op, I agree with a feathery hair accessoru and maybe an updo
Have a good time!

Oops, just seen your link, that's the nicest, go with that!

Thank you all for your ideas, I have also found this
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-sequin-and-beaded-assymmetric-1930s-flapper-style-dress-Evans-Sz-22-/380881601815 what do you think?

Love the shape of the brown one turtle but bidding is getting quite high Sad and the lace one has little sleeves which I like. I could always add some fringing to the bottom edge too to make it a wee bit more flapper-esque. Lots of ideas to think about thank you.

I have long hair so I was thinking maybe a low bun off to one side and then a head band as robin suggested with feathers?

long gloves?

I have some long beads somewhere, probably in DD room.

How about this headband?

I think both of your links would work! I can't decide which one is the nicest. Long gloves would look good, I agree, and a beaded necklace. You'll be perfect :)

This looks like a good up do if you can follow the tutorial.
