Rosehip miracle?

FrankCarsonsDressingRoom · 12/04/2014 08:17

Am I imagining this? I bought rosehip oil on amazon, have rubbed it in two days in a row on a wrinkle next to my mouth and its gone?

Anybody else had similar?

Well I've just purchased some too.

I was using the Estee Lauder serum and I haven't noticed that much difference after a couple of months. First week or so, I saw a big difference, but now, I'm just putting it on for the sake of it I think. Also, it's really expensive and I've only got another months worth left I'd say. Not good.

Not used an oil before and I originally was going to use the oil so I could start giving myself facial massages. Can I do that with this oil? Or is it better to just slap it on and let it soak in?

twentysomethingnotforlong · 22/04/2014 17:34

Oh and I'm 29 and haven't got loads of wrinkles, but I do have the nose to mouth lines, which seem to be getting more noticeable by the day. Also my skin just looks a bit dull, so needs a bit of a pick me up. Hoping this will help with that.

sergeantmajor · 22/04/2014 19:23

I am very keen on the Pai rosehip oil. Nice to know that there is science behind it!

OddBoots · 23/04/2014 22:51

I'm another sheep, having read more about its anti-inflammatory properties I've got some to try as I've got some spots as well as deepening lines (I'm 36). I've just put it on, I need to remember to do it earlier in the evening.

FoxyHarlow123 · 23/04/2014 23:15

I'm going to relegate mine to a leg moisturiser, as I've broken out in spots since using this. Could of course be coincidence but I'm not prepared to risk it, as my skin is bad enough as it is.

billie2001uk · 30/04/2014 17:49

I've been using this for a while as well. It's great. I've got the little bottle with the pipette/dropper lip and carry it in my bag so that I can 'top up' during the day.

Bonniemum24 · 30/04/2014 18:23

Def going to get some (43)

RedRoom · 30/04/2014 18:37

I recommend this one as the quality is top notch and it is safe for even very sensitive skin:

I've completely disappeared using this rosehip oil, it was only the wrinkles that were holding me altogether, mind you was only 77 years old.

LackaDAISYcal · 30/04/2014 22:55

will it work on those sadface lines either side of my gob?

psoriasis is often associated with immune system disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis. It can also be a side effect of some drugs.

randomfemale · 30/04/2014 23:00

Just ordered some (along with some more black African soap - also a MN recommend). Grin

AgathaF · 01/05/2014 06:41

What does black african soap do? Although I really need to stop buying stuff recommended on these boards Grin.

Floisme · 01/05/2014 07:16

I've used it and I wouldn't shell out for it again. I find that, if you massage in pretty much any oil, it can have a similar effect i.e. your lines can look softer. They're still there though!

DigitConfusion2 · 01/05/2014 08:53

Baa Grin

Its in my basket but I haven't checked out yet...

Has anyone else had it make them hairier like a pp said? I am hairy enough, I want laser treatment so I don't want anything to encourage that!

hydra234 · 01/05/2014 09:21

Hi, love the idea of this, I have sun damage to my chest, I'm paler than pale, my forehead looks like the London Underground map and crows feet are attacking like mad. Does it need to be this rosehip oil or can it be any one?

randomfemale · 01/05/2014 19:54

AgathaF black African soap is great really cleansing skin, removing make-up fights blemished and helps heal eczema. You can also wash your hair with it but I think it is best used on naturally afro hair - it turned my wavy/curly hair into an unmanageable shrub. Highly recommend for face/body though Smile

MadBusLady · 01/05/2014 19:56

Ooh can African soap help with blackheads? Really getting fed up with my nose.

randomfemale · 01/05/2014 20:23

MadBusLady I get mine from Amazon, only around £3.00. Worth a try - my skin is so much better since I started using it but I have adult acne rather than blackheads.

FoxyHarlow123 · 01/05/2014 20:48

Fushi rosehip oil has a sort of naturally occurring tretinoin in it. When I used hard core tretinoin (the chemical blast yr skin off stuff) I got a downy face, so I reckon there's a possibility it can encourage a fuzzy face.

twentyoneagain · 07/05/2014 13:18

Wow!!! I saw this thread last week and ordered a bottle. Have been using it on my neck and sun damaged chest and shoulders and I really am amazed. My skin looks so much softer and smoother and so I am about to start on my forehead - hasn't really bothered me before as I always cover it with my fringe :-). Never imagined it could make such a difference and so quickly too.

pinkrocker · 14/01/2015 14:27

Well as this has just appeared on the Mumsnet most-reccomended products email, I thought I'd ask how you are all doing with it?

FozzieMK · 14/01/2015 14:47

I used 2 bottles of Trilogy Rosehip oil one after the other to give it a good chance and I have to say it did nothing at all.

Gen35 · 14/01/2015 15:02

Yes also interested in an update as contemplating a purchase but don't need another ineffectual bottle cluttering the cupboard

Poopoopeedoo · 14/01/2015 15:58

Hi
Rosehip oil gets hugely recommended by Spanish doctors for diminishing scar tissue- it stimulates collagen, etc and when my son cut his forehead open I diligently applied it- don't really know if it helps but then I read up on it and thought I'd try it on
Me too. I was using it a while back and had to replace two sets of pillows as I put it on before bed and the danged stuff stains!!! Eek!
However, it was great for around the eyes. I have oily skin and it DID defo increase pimples so would recommend for dry skins or just around eyes and allow at least an hour before u smoosh your face into that pillow.

YoungJoseph · 14/01/2015 16:15

Not that impressed either, just about used the bottle up. Another product I might have tried for longer if it wasn't for the smell.
