Rosehip miracle?

FrankCarsonsDressingRoom · 12/04/2014 08:17

Am I imagining this? I bought rosehip oil on amazon, have rubbed it in two days in a row on a wrinkle next to my mouth and its gone?

Anybody else had similar?

Rosehips are well known for being high in vit c.
People make rosehip syrup to take in the winter.
wonder if you can 'extract' the 'oil' yourself.
we also used to usd the insides as ' itching powder'.

Squoosh do you just rub it in? My chest is like Spaghetti Junction- whatever way I sleep with arms crossed over. I will try it. Thank you.

Elllimam · 18/04/2014 18:50

Is it safe in pregnancy?

WhyIRayLiotta · 18/04/2014 18:57

When will I learn not to click into style and beauty threads about miracle products!?

I've just ordered it too. Easter Blush

chocolatespiders · 18/04/2014 18:59

I have this and have been putting it on my lined chest as soon as I get out of the shower Smile

OriginofSymmetry · 18/04/2014 19:04

I've been using rosehip for about 2 years (I also use jojoba to cleanse with)- tbh it's not (for me) the miracle cure that people say it is - I'm not sure how much more wrinkled I'd be if I wasn't using it but I don't think it got rid of existing wrinkles. I'm 38 btw. By all means give it a go but don't necessarily expect a new face because of some oil. The main reason I keep using it is because it's cheap and a natural product.

Stuffofawesome · 18/04/2014 19:19

aromatherpist I know swears properties of rose mosqueta oil in particular are amazing

hollyisalovelyname · 19/04/2014 20:36

I've bought it. If it's as good a suggestion as the one about using Vaseline as a nail conditioner I'll be your friend for life.

moonfacebaby · 19/04/2014 21:02

I bought some too & have been using it for a few days.

I'm 42 - can't say I've seen a difference yet, but I'm gonna give it a good go.

I'm just so bloody horrified by how much my face has started to age recently - got the 11's thing going on & whilst there aren't any wrinkles around my eyes until I bloody smile, it's still a bit of an obsession. I must be too vain for my own good.

Prior to using this, I've been using sweet almond oil which was good - but I like the dryness of rosehip oil.

I have psoriasis on my forehead & I'm hoping this will help too.

Really like that it's a natural product too.

Moon, go get Botox for your 11s

FrankCarsonsDressingRoom · 20/04/2014 08:51

Moon face, I've got psoriasis too, and use shea butter on it, it really helps it heal

OP posts:
moonfacebaby · 20/04/2014 12:15

Foxy - I keep thinking about Botox but I'm a bit nervous about it. How much does it cost?

Frank- I've been putting waitrose baby bum stuff on it too & that's got Shea butter in it - I'm starting to see that it does seem to work really well. I'm waiting to see a dermatologist as I've flared up all over my body but in the mean time, I'm using a sunbed (& that's not gonna help with the wrinkles, is it?!!!).

FoxyHarlow123 · 20/04/2014 13:07

Average is about £200 for your 11s. I get that its nerve wracking the first time - it feels like such a big step but seriously, it doesn't hurt (similar pain level as plucking your eyebrows) and is the only thing that really works. Get a good doctor with a light touch and I promise you will be amazed!!

Sleepyfergus · 20/04/2014 16:41

What are 11s? Are they the 2 vertical lines that go up from the start of your eyebrows. If so I've got them, pretty much overnight Hmm

FoxyHarlow123 · 20/04/2014 17:27

Yes.

FrankCarsonsDressingRoom · 20/04/2014 18:05

Sorry moo face, that's crap. Have you made dietary adjustments? A few years ago I had 90% but a juice fast did wonders. Shea butter (pure refined, organic) really helped the lesions heal. I'm half way through photo therapy now and my arms are clear....I never thought it would work.

OP posts:
Sleepyfergus · 20/04/2014 18:53

Ah feckConfused

moonfacebaby · 20/04/2014 20:28

Foxy - I may treat myself when my divorce settlement comes through (which has probably made them worse & my psoriasis too)....how often do you have to get it done?

Frank - I've been pondering the Dr.Pagano diet for ages but it seems so hardcore. Trying lots of supplements - vit D, fish oils, flaxseed etc & I have had the odd juice here & there - carrots, spinach etc - how long did you fast for? What kind of juices? I'll try the Shea butter too. I think I'll get the light therapy as ive got guttate psoriasis,so it's a bugger to put steroid cream on & it just doesn't work.
Good to hear that yours has got better - gives me hope! I only ever had the odd bit but it's bloody ridiculous now.

FrankCarsonsDressingRoom · 20/04/2014 20:32

No. Mine was really bad, I looked like a burns victim and could never show any arm or leg skin...haven't been swimming for four years etc. juice fasting is hard...but it was either that or chemitherapy.

I did five weeks, had one meal a week which was salmon, brocolli and brown rice. Avoided nightshades and all the other stuff. It was well worth it, but I just do t have the stamina in me any more....

OP posts:
squoosh · 20/04/2014 20:34

I tried the Pagano diet too. The two main things that got rid of my psoriasis were giving up the fags and taking up a daily Vit D supplement.

FrankCarsonsDressingRoom · 20/04/2014 20:54

Squish. How long did it take for you to see results? We're you megadosing vit d?

OP posts:
moonfacebaby · 22/04/2014 13:06

Frank - that sounds hardcore!

Squoosh - I've given up the fags & I'm on vit D too. Hoping it will clear up soon.

I do wonder if I have a food intolerance (seems to be quite a lot of research that suggests if you suffer with psoriasis, it's quite likely) - but again, I lack the discipline to go on astrict diet to find out.

squoosh · 22/04/2014 15:42

Frank first I stopped smoking and that tamed a lot of the psoriasis but I still had a lot left on my legs. Megadosed on Vit D, 10,000 IU per day and my skin was clear within maybe 3 or 4 months.

My psoriasis came about after a strep throat infection. Awful condition, such a confidence zapper.

squoosh · 22/04/2014 15:43

Same as your moonface, guttate psoriasis for me too!
