Swedish Hasbeens - what gives?

SirRaymondClench · 11/04/2014 14:45

A friend of mine on FB has just posted a pic of her new Swedish Hasbeens. Now I am an avid Birkenstock wearer in the Summer so I like cloggy type shoes. Are these SH comfy? I don't want to ask her because then I shall expose myself as a know-nothing (which obvs I am)
Would you recommend them?

I don't know, I wear wooden clogs for work, I can't bring myself to entertain the idea of wearing them outside work as well :)
Hopefully someone will come along and share their experience with the Hasbeens :)

I wear them in the summer and find them comfortable...but comfortable for a heeled sandal, not like a a Birkenstock.
I love the look at them with an a line denim skirt or cropped trousers in the summer.

The Super high slingbacks are the only heels I can wear. I never developed the ability to wear proper heels, having spent my youth in Docs and converse, but these are my go-to for weddings - can stand around all day and then dance in them for a couple of hours before discarding them.

I have a pair of ankle boots. Comfy once I'd broken them in, and the wooden soles are surprisingly 'cushion-y'. But they are heavy! My legs get tired if I'm walking round a lot in them.

I thought you were talking about abba

SauceForTheGander · 12/04/2014 00:06

I'm getting a pair. Super highs after debating it for 5 years. My friend has yellow pair and looks great with everything -

I'm just stuck on sizing - someone come along and tell me what to get as 5.5 / 38 or 39!

pizzachickenhotforyou · 12/04/2014 01:09

Sauce- where are you they have a shop at the moment in box park in shoreditch you can try them on.

rootypig · 12/04/2014 01:11

Sauce I had a pair of Hasbeens boots a few years back and they come up small, mine were barely worn because of it

SauceForTheGander · 12/04/2014 11:37

Thank you - I could send DH to pick up a pair during his lunch hour! I'll go up a size to 39 then.

Bad news Rooty about yours - I hate that.

rootypig · 12/04/2014 11:54

I know, I should have sucked up the cost of posting them back for an exchange. Lesson learned!

SauceForTheGander · 12/04/2014 21:50

We've all got things like that lurking in our wardrobes.

Was it you who posted about your lovely rain mac?

Go stroke that and forget about too small Hasbeens. It's all about the slider anyway. Smile

rootypig · 13/04/2014 19:03

Yes it was my mac! and in fact I got a size that was fractionally too big, I thought, and instead of just talking myself round to it, as I did with the boots, I sent it back and got the size down, which I'm totally happy with. So that's an example of the lesson! Smile

Who knows, my feet might shrink when I'm 80 and then I'll dig them out.....

cremolafoam · 13/04/2014 19:09

I have a pair of the lower wedge sandals which I love. However over the few years I've had them the 'raw' leather straps have stretched a bit and they have become loose on my feet. Mine are cranberry red and I love them .

SauceForTheGander · 13/04/2014 20:31

Cremo - I do love the look of the red or navy.
