Ive got an intervie for a receptionist/admin role. I'm currently studying in this area but have no direct experience in employment so I really want to make a brilliant first impression. Budget is more high street than designer. I do have a black suit so ideas of tops accessories etc would be great. TIA

Good plan to have a plain suit. I would wear an off white top and interesting shoes (to avoid head to toe dull).

White top: cotton or silk with sleeves. Banana Republic have just brought out a thick textured cotton top for £50 ("textured zip-back top" - am on ipad so no links). Uniqlo do nice cotton shirts for £15, too. I wouldn't do jersey, as too casual. H&M Premium are doing a white silk shirt that's £35 (albeit sheer, so you need a vest).

Snakeskin shoes: Zara (£70) or Office Darling d'orsay (£60) are my favourites. Think you would get lots of wear out of either.

Or how about red heels? Gorgeous w a black and white outfit.

Good luck!!!

Thank you. Just trying to think what shoes I have think most of them are more party than smart IYKWIM. I did think about nude court shoes and blouse with a pussy bow?

I love nude shoes, so go with them if you like and already have them, but I think a little peek into your personality via some fab shoes can be a good idea. I am a superficial soul and like to see good shoes. However, if in doubt, play it safe in an interview.

Blouse w a pussy bow is good. Just take your time to tie it so it doesn't drive you mad. I struggle w them, myself. Plain tops are easier for me to deal w, and then add a necklace. But play dress up this weekend and see if you like how it looks w the suit.

Do like the peak into personality theory just worried as no experience in the role im going for. Going town shortly so will see what I can find . Thank you so much. I plan on playing dress up over the weekend better I feel in the outfit the more it'll be reflected in my confidence.

Well done, sounds like you have what you need and also have a back up option. Good to do the thinking and planning while shopping, so you can dress easily and not think about what you are wearing, once you are dressed.

Yes I have despite my ds's being uncooperative. Even
