Big thighs and c-section overhang

Gosh, don't I sound attractive Grin

I've always had big thighs and have sort of come to terms with it. I have now finally lost my baby weight (smallest is 2 and a half Blush ) and have realised in horror that I can't wear my pre dc clothes. They were all tight fitting around the belly and I just can't do that anymore.

I am the same weight as before pregnancy (60 kg, I think that's 9.5 stone, height: 5.5) but still have this horrid overhang.

I am looking for tops and dresses that hide the belly area but won't draw focus to my big thighs either.

I just read loads of topics on here and have ordered some next relaxed skinnies, so it would be great if you could find me some tops to go with that. And maybe dresses to go with leggings? Or are leggings a no-no for thunder thighs?

Oh, and I am on quite a tight budget Sad

Any help would be appreciated!

This is a good place to see what style and shapes would suit you, you can then go find similar items within your budget.

You can't be that thunderous of thigh at 9.5 stone, I weigh that and I'm only an inch taller than you but wear size 10 mostly.

I am pear shaped too, but am pretty happy with my figure! Wear whatever you like! Maybe tone up if you feel selfconscious.

If you genuinely are thunderous of thigh, darker colours on bottom half are good - I just got some M and S five pocket jeggings - don't be out off by the name, they are fabulous superskinny jeans for the princely sum of £22. They suck you in and hold you in, and they're a nice weighty denim, not that thin stretchy cottony 'denim' that most high st skinnies seem to be. They look good with boots, heels and flats. If you like wearing leggings, you'll like these. Mine are a dark indigo denim and I'm planning to get a mid blue version too. Leggings are a bit passé now

Tops - just have a look at what's in the shops and see what you like, really. Sounds like you just need to rediscover your style a bit Smile

Thanks TheJumped. Hey, I'd never knock the mighty M+S! They've always been a guilty pleasure of mine.

I think you're right, I will just have to readjust to my new body shape and new style. I've never been confident in making the right style decisions but I'm getting old enough now to care less if people laugh about me Grin
that's a lie

I'm a similar shape/ proportion to you but the short arse version (5ft2, 8st 10). Thighs way out of proportion and CS overhang, so following with interest. I'm wearing new look super soft skinnies in a dark wash with a bit of a washed out thing on the knees. Very flattering and "supportive". I've got very similar ones in grey from miss selfridge, they're higher waisted. I tend to wear a long line vest top (mostly old maternity ones, with something shorter on top.

lovingmatleave · 10/04/2014 21:53

Fat face do some longer length tops. I wear one with v. Tight new look jeans which I could not possibly wear with normal length tops. Expensive for what they are so I tend to look on eBay or buy in sales.

bonzo77 · 10/04/2014 22:02

Sorry, just checked my jeans. They're new look "skinny" not the super soft skinny.

PrimalLass · 10/04/2014 23:40

I live in the Next relaxed skinnies. I also bought 8 of these vests:
www.matalan.co.uk/product/detail/s2532798/long-line-vest-top

I wear one under a shorter top.

Thanks all. Food for thought.

I've recently rediscovered eBay loving and it's been great for some things, I just never seem to be able to get a super bargain and end up in a bidding war Hmm

Interesting about those vests, prima. So I could hide my thighs with the vests and then hide the tummy with a shorter top? I like the sound of it!

bonzo I have a few skinnies and I just feel so uncomfortable in them and like my thighs are trying to burst out of the jeans, so are the new look skinnies any different?
