Lip colour - help someone clueless!

I'm looking for something very natural-looking to 'complete' my work make-up look but am a bit bewildered by all the choice. I normally just wear lip balm but that doesn't feel quite enough now as I'm wearing make up to work having worn nothing for years. My knowledge of lipstick extends to teenage use of heather shimmer and lipcote! I had a bit of a disaster yesterday when I bought a Rimmel balm colour and what I thought would be sheer and near my normal colour ended up looking thick and bright pink, so I don't really want to keep wasting money buying useless stuff. Does anyone has any product suggestions or even colour suggestions for someone with quite pale skin and brown hair?

Revlon lip butter in pink truffle is my go to for my lips but better lipstick, not shimmery, kind if sheer but creamy and a really nice colour. Someone on here recommended it and I wear it loads.

Mac Syryp or Hug me. Lovely pink and neutral and both very easy to wear.Nars Dolce Vita also very flattering.

I'm really rating the maybe line baby lips in the purple tube, it's a nude colour with a tiny shimmer and shine and really has sorted my dry lips!

I'm the same colouring as you and was looking for the same. I tried quite a few and found Boots 17 lip crayon in superstar. It's really nice and a great MLBB shade.

Thank you for the suggestions, you've given me somewhere to start looking!

I love Revlon lip butter and I just don't get on with lipstick at all! I also found that a nude lip liner on its own looks okay too!

Test the lip stick on the pad of your finger, if it looks good it will suit your lips. I've avoided lots of mistakes this way!

I like the Revlon Pink Truffle too. It's a lovely natural colour.

My favourite though, is Chanel's Boy. It's so natural and subtle but is pricier.

Boots No7 Chic is a nice colour and quite natural looking - I tend to apply it with a lip brush and I think it looks nice :)
