Can anybody recommend a mascara to give long lashes? Thanks in advance.

I really like Benefit 'Bad gal' and 'They're real'

Neither are very popular on here but both work well for me.

Double extension by l'oreal or the dior iconic (a bit pricey). Both lengthen my lashes, which are pretty short and don't smudge

Thankyou whatever!

I use rapid lash which has given me really long lashes I use the maybelline false lash effect mascara in the light purple fat tube and it looks like I have falsies on... Very happy with the results.

agree with alpaca about benefit bad gal.

also, max factor 2000 calorie.

I don't rate the benefit They're Real, felt like I had tar on my lashes but I do rate the Thick and Fast from Soap and Glory esp the onein gold tube.

Best mascara ever is Chantecaille from Space NK. Goes on in fine layers with clumping so you can have one coat for natural-looking lashes or a few coats for the false lash effect!

Benefit They're Real. Best mascara ever!

I feel like I've tried every mascara and none have impressed me. Even when I think I've found one I like (and I usually have to use a brush from a different one because although the mascara itself is good, the brush is the wrong shape, too soft etc), I find that it dries out too much within a week or 2 and is nowhere near as good as it was.

I've been using brush on lash microfibres for the past year or so and I love them. It's a mascara sized bottle of tiny natural fibres that look like iron filings. Put on a layer of mascara, then the fibres, then another later of mascara. Really quick, no different to wipe off than your usual mascara and they look natural but amazing! I can't read the brand name on my bottle anymore but there are quite a few out there that range from £10-£40. Even the cheap one is pretty good.

Ooh Anjou, they sound good. I might be similar to you OP, I need length but not volume as such? My lashes are dark and quite thick already. I just want that gorgeous fan effect without clumping.

Anjou · 10/04/2014 20:49

You should definitely try them then, MadBus! If I take my time to do it properly (rather than rushing it while juggling DS 1 & 2 and hoping for the best!) I can literally see a good 2-3 mm in length added. Smile
