New Balance - I'm such a sheep :)

I caved yesterday and bought some New Balance 410s. I've always worn trainers but never considered these until I saw them on every mummy blogger around. They are so comfy although I may have been swayed by having walked round the shops for 5 hours in brogues with no socks - I looked cool in my head but my feet were ripped to bits so the NB felt like slippers . They go with lots and I'm really pleased with them, new shoes make me happy like nothing else .

What colour did you buy? Did you buy your normal size or did you size up? I too am a sheep and will be buying a pair next week. I'm so bored of wearing Converse and fancy a change. Glad to know they're comfy.

I'm getting some too! Baa! I'm going to size up. Haven't decided between the 410/420 though.

I mentioned to dh (who is in his twenties and very trendy) that I was thinking of getting some of these and he pulled a face like he'd swallowed a wasp. He really doesn't like them. Which even though I know it shouldn't matter it really put me off! He says I will look like some marathon runner who has taken a wrong turn somewhere.

Ooh, I really want these! Have been eyeing them up, thought they'd be great for the commute to work, comfy but not frumpy. What colour did you get? I quite fancy blue and yellow...

Sports shoes/trainers look silly when worn as casual wear. Wear them with sportswear when you are doing sport or exercise.

Aren't New Balance running trainers?

They look silly on the bloggers too.

I wear my trainers with everything. I walk miles and need comfy feet. I don't care if people think they look silly.
New Balance however look like they cost a fiver in the sports direct sale and around here are not worn by the fashionable but mostly by those with their tracksuit bottoms tucked into their socks. Much like the old reebok classics.

A blog i follow she bought a pair.. posted about how great they were then flogged them shortly after in her shop.

I'm mid 40s and don't care, I'm still getting some either in black or grey, will go for 410s. Am also buying leopard print skater shoes, I'm a right sheep

I'm 41 and I got the dark red in a size 6 - I'm generally a 5 to 6 depending on the style of shoe so I'd say they come up slightly small.

I think the 410s look less like a shoe you would do actual sports in than say the 574s which are much more sporty looking. I like more retro style trainers and think they look good with the right sort of smart/casual clothing. These feel very 'me' which was what swayed me - as I said I've always been a trainers person and these make a nice change from Converse (and are much cheaper than the reissued Nikes I saved for months for last time round).

I did try some skate shoes too but I looked bloody daft in them so won't be going there!

Im sure you'll get loads of wear out of them over summer

Mine arrived today but I'm sending them back, they make my feet look massive (they are size 7's).
