Shampoo for coloured hair?

I get my hair coloured (to cover the vast expanses of grey) and it fades a lot between colours. I'm pretty poor at the moment, but can anyone recommend a good shampoo that might help? My hairdresser mentioned redken but I think it's quite expensive. Would love any recommendations - preferably for something you can get from the supermkt or high street.
Thanks!

(Had my hair coloured for years due to grey). I do have a permanent colour put in, some bleach blonde highlights, and I just use Herbal Essences colour. No fading issues here.

L'Oreal Elvive red bottle stuff is good - half price for the big bottles in Tesco just now

I wonder if it is to do with the hair dye used too. I get mine done at Aveda but it fades so much I'm thinking of trying another salon.

Thanks very much - will give these a shot.

Mine used to be Aveda too ExcuseTypos and I've now switched salons due to the fading. Lovely colour and all that, but would fade after 4 - 5 weeks.

Which colour do you have now frankie, would you recommend it?

It's a Joico colour but I've gone lighter with bleach too. Had it done twice and very pleased so far!

Redken is the best colour protective shampoo that I've used, sometimes cheaper on Amazon.

Thanks Frankie.
