I had a lovely one almost ordered from gap but now it is only available in nude, it was available in tan, blue or yellow so I was going to get tan or possibly yellow. It was kind of bucket shaped and leather and lovely...ah well.

I am having a job finding anything in the same price range which is as nice, I prefer leather and not black but am fairly flexible otherwise.

So far this is all I have found [http://uk.accessorize.com/view/product/uk_catalog/acc_1.23/5891242400]

Any other ideas gratefully recieved!

That is a really good price for leather, I like it and its good that it has padding for laptops.Which colour did you get?

I have fallen in love with a green bag at the leather satchel company but it is more expensive... Am torn now!

Chicapuaga did you get the label removed or keep it on with your leather satchel company one? I am wondering whether they just leave it empty and have the little pocket or if the pocket is removed entirely if you select with no label.

Slightly over budget but think you can get a 15% discount if you sign to their mailing list (if you aren't already on it)

Do you mean the little window on the front? I've kept it and it's empty.

I added a bolt on handle and removable strap and it cost around £100. I'm very pleased with it. I preferred it to the other satchels I saw. I suppose it depends how long you want to keep it, but it comes with a lifetime guarantee.

cakeaddict you read my mind, my reply to the OP was going to include the phrase "holy grail" and suggest TK Maxx Smile. My MIL gave me a nice one she bought at House of Fraser a few years ago. Seriously though, if I wasn't currently on mat leave the suggestions on this thread would have me in a bag-buying frenzy of epic proportions. Good luck in you hunt OP.

Dr Marten makes a range of bags

I third TKMaxx - they have some good selections at times.

I got two great bags that carry folders, A4 diaries, pencil cases, purses etc. for work from there.

Nice colours too!

Oh my goodness such lovely bags on here, I would never have thought of dr martins for a smart bag but its lovely! And the banana republic one. I am also now itching to go to tk maxx today but have plans with dd2... Tempting!

Have sent a link to the leather satchel company one to dh so its in his hands now I suppose, am guessing he may order at work. It is the most beautiful shade of green, I hope I do t get tired of bright green handbags by the time I am eighty if they have a lifetime guarantee!

Yes I meant the window thing, I think I had selected to remove the label bit but I am not sure how the link will work as sent it in the basket, it may just come up with the bag in which case I don't think dh would add extras or change it. I really hope they do fast delivery! Had I better get something for dh for this anniversary now?!
