Gap mac colours help

I'm looking into buying a mac from gap. They've got navy or beige. Not sure what colour to go for.
I'm hoping to wear it casually I wear jeans blue, grey or black or to wear it for work and my uniform is all black.

What would you go for that would go with most?

If it's the short one I've got the beige, it's a bit of a grown up colour for me but I've had a lot of compliments on it.

It's about mid thigh. Was thinking beige as it would go with most things especially my dull black uniform. Am funny about wearing blue and black.
That is probably so old hat advice now.

How does it fit junkie? I'm an hourglass 14. Shall I get 14?

In case you didn't know they are in their spring edit in store. 40% off. I really want the beige colour but it doesn't suit me. Felt nice though

I got the navy earlier this week. I think it will look good with trousers although have realised it won't look at all good with my below the knee dresses, which is what I mostly wear ... guess my ancient longer mac will have to do another year for the dresses!
