Only1scoop · 26/03/2014 18:09

And how good is it?

I'm 41 with slightly sensitive complexion ....a few crows feet and skin feeling dehydrated....

Just finished my Decleor eye cream and moisturiser and feel like I need something richer....maybe a serum.

Are you using anything fab at the moment?....looking for a day cream....night cream....eye cream Smile

I use clarins cleanser and toner but have run out if everything else....

A race against 'wrinkling' timeBlush

Thanks very much.

I use oil to cleanse (coconut oil or Josie Maran) and once a week mix in some sugar to make a scrub. Have just discovered dr perricone whose cold plasma and eye cream are amazing.... Also layer over a Japanese facial oil by boscia at night which is gorgeous, my skin is as good as it's ever been.

Pinkfizzy · 26/03/2014 21:19

Boots lift & luminate plus Estée Lauder night repair & shiseido benefiance foaming cleanser which is a super gentle exfoliant too.

MorrisZapp · 26/03/2014 21:24

The only product that makes my skin feel clean is the cheap Garnier face wash in the blue tube. I've used it for over ten years.

I absolutely love La Roche Posay products for everything else, their moisturisers are fab and I love all the rich body stuff too. Only problem is it all comes in identical packaging so no senior moments allowed. They are v reasonably priced when compared to beauty counter stuff.

I love Elemis marine cream but only buy it once a year, on QVCs Xmas special.

Only1scoop · 27/03/2014 00:13

I've made a purchase.

A couple of posts said how good the YSL serum was so I have treated myself ....great deal at boots.

Serum normally 62 pounds

Little gift set with full size 30ml serum and two creams for 37 poundsSmile

I wear the touche eclait foundation and ordered some of that as two ysl products get 10 pounds extra advantage points.

On hotuk deals got a 10 percent off saving.

When went to basket they include free sample of Chanel mascara for buying 2 premium products Grin

So I think a great deal

Will let you know how I get on and thanks again all.

Also plan to look for Aldi cleansers etc as several references to that also.

Didn't even know they sold it will be checking it out.

Only1scoop re the YSL gift set - I can't find it on the Boots website, not sure if I'm looking for the right thing Blush - would you be able to post a link to it? Thanks!

Only1scoop · 27/03/2014 07:03

Hey....go to boots website search box and type In 'ysl forever youth'.... It comes up at 40 pounds 66 pence. Once in basket 2 pounds fifty comes off and other offers come up.

It doesn't seem to come up if you just go to the YSL pages at boots. You have to put in specific search.

I'm going to try and work out how to post a link but I'm a bit hopeless at that kind of stuff....hence the convoluted instructions....Grin

Hope you find it.

Also go on hotukdeals boots and get discount codeSmile

That is a great deal for the YSL serum onescoop I am so glad you are trying it, it is amazing.

I use the touche eclat foundation as well, it is really great!

Only1scoop · 27/03/2014 07:14

Somer....thanks yes....I'm looking forward to give a whirl Smile

Excellent, found it now - thanks !

Only1scoop · 27/03/2014 09:31

Hey....have you used it before or giving it a whirl like me?

All my facial products are Clarins. Since starting using Clarins my skin looks years younger. I recently tried the Lacura brand, but I will be honest that I don't really rate it all that much. Some say the serum is better than the more expensive brands, but i don't think so. I'll use it up by using every few days, but i wont be changing it to permanently. Yes, the Clarins is expensive, but i don't spend a lot on myself generally so this is my bit of pampering i do for me.

I have really sensitive, excema prone skin and i tried quite a few brands before which weren't good for me.

lurkingfromhome · 27/03/2014 10:59

Morning:

La-Roche Posay gel cleanser
Pixi glow tonic/La-Roche Posay soothing toner (alternate days)
La-Roche Posay eye cream
Alpha H day serum
La-Roche Posay Effaclar H moisturiser

Evening:

Ren hot cloth cleanser
La-Roche Posay eye cream
Clarins Lotus facial oil
Alpha H Liquid Gold/Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair (alternate nights)
La-Roche Posay Effaclar H moisturiser

I really rate La-Roche Posay for certain products and they are such good value (often on 3 for 2 at Boots) so that makes it a bit less ouch to spend ££££ on some other products. You only get one face, though, and I don't spend a lot of money on shoes & handbags, so I see skincare as a good investment!

noddyholder · 27/03/2014 11:06

I use decleor neroli and hydra floral and at night the balm

Only1scoop · 27/03/2014 19:11

Is it okay to use the gylcolic peel and retin A in the same week? My instruction book says not so I haven't dared. Has anyone done this and had good results?

Chocolou · 28/03/2014 15:06

I wouldn't almond as they're both exfoliating and effectively thinning your skin. I'm a beauty therapist.

Don't forget if you're peeling to use SPF. You should be doing this anyway as it's the best anti ageing product you can use.

jaffacakesallround · 28/03/2014 15:10

There are NO products that will keep you young, except sun block used religiously.

Anything else just plumps up the skin surface for as long as you use it- and it makes no difference whether it costs £1 a pot of £100 a pot.

I think when people talk about seeing a difference between products it' s all a bit self-talk, and maybe applying more expensive creams more carefully, or- maybe some creams etc irritate so by changing from those to something else the irritation goes away.

almondcake · 28/03/2014 15:44

Chocolou, sorry to ask more questions. I've had my bottles of glycolic acid for over a year (from Bravura). There's no date on the bottle. Is there a point at which I should throw them out and get new ones? Is it okay to pour the unused acid down the sink? The strengths are 30 and 50%.

Chocolou · 28/03/2014 20:57

No probs almond ask away. I would throw them away. They've lost their strength so won't be very effective. You can just throw the bottle way no need to empty it. I have put it down the sink before but know there will be someone along in a minute who says nothing should go down the sink!

lavenderhoney · 28/03/2014 21:33

L'oreal oil for cleansing and a hot cloth for me. No toner, its too much for my skin, unless I've been somewhere dirty ( London)

I use serum ( boots own) and always SPF in the day. And sunglasses. No squinty eyes for me!

I also put on some Argan oil occasionally, and exfoliate with clarins once a week.

I am lucky though and have no lines or wrinkles. I saw someone recently who hadn't seen me for ten years and they wouldn't shut up about my skin and how I must have sold my soul to the devil:)

You have to keep at it though. And always always take your make up off at night and put cream on.

Only1scoop · 29/03/2014 09:45

Oooo YSL serum and mini goodies have arrived....

Looking forward to looking more plumped upBlush

Hooray only1scoop

Remember, you don't need much of the serum! Eek it out.
I forgot to say, the other reason I got it was because my sister had this sort of sun spot on her otherwise porcelain cheek. She had laser treatment, the works, nothing would get rid of it.

4 weeks after YSL serum and it slowly faded and now it has totally disappeared!

I have a bit of sun damage as I live in Spain and it is seemingly unavoidable, even though I never sunbathe, it is also so much better now.

You will see a difference in your skin in a week I would say. Enjoy!

Only1scoop · 29/03/2014 10:37

Somers....hey that sounds great....I need miracles Smile

It has come without any paper insert type instructions of how to apply and just says 'apply morning and night' on bottle. How do you apply yours?

Sorry for all the questions hope you don't mind....

Thanks vvvv much Smile
