Underwired bras digging in

I've been measured at Bravissimo and recently bought a Panache 32G moulded bra to wear under teeshirts - unbelievably ugly but discreet! the problem is the wire under the cup seems to almost dig into my tummy when I sit down. Is this just how it has to be with a large/full cup? The FF was too small in cup size but this feels gargantuan

Panache bras have very firm wires so the stiffness comes as a shock to those used to softer bras. Have you got the band sitting in the right place (inframammary fold)? If it's sitting a bit low, hoike it up and see how it feels then? Doing that may make the cups sit too high on your body and cause gaping (a very typical issue with moulded bras). Have you scooped?

Hi, yes I have scooped - I'll try scooping a bit more. It seems very 'fixed' TBH and I'm almost at the top of the adjusters on the strap to keep the cup less saggy. Not sure where my inframammary fold is though.

The wire part seems to feel about 3" wide although I know it isn't, maybe I'll wash it first and retry. I was so excited about getting something that fitted in the shop that I went and bought another from amazon (£11 cheaper too!)

It sounds to me like this style bra isn't working for you, especially if you've had to adjust the straps to their smallest length already.

My advice would be to take it back to Bravissimo and ask for a re-fit. Tell them the issues and show them the gaping and shortended straps.

Moulded bras suit very few people tbh. Did you try any other styles?

Thanks for the link :) I wanted a moulded one to wear under teeshirts to avoid sharing my nipples with the world, I always wear a cardigan over tees so just thought I would have a go at this one.

I was nearly in tears in the shop, I feel so self-conscious and hideous. The rest of me is a size 10. The fitters seem to think I should be happy with a balconette style but all I see is breast tissue flapping over the top.

I went for a fitting in the same shop. The assistant made me feel really self conscious. I'm a 28 J ( apparently) she appeared with this hideous think like a crop top which was allegedly for sport but was a yoga or minimal impact bra not suitable for what I wanted. I ended up with this thing which make my tits look like two puppies trying to get out of a shopping bag. Hideous! If I didn't laugh I would just cry all day. £50 of cash I can't afford to feel and look crap.

At a 32G you are a very similar size to me (30GG). I'm a size 10/12 and honestly you really aren't out of proportion. A 32G is a very 'average' size it's just that we're conditioned to think of anything about D as massive!

The Cleo Juna is good for preventing nipple showage. It's padded but not moulded and therefore easier to get a good fit with. Go back to Bravissimo and ask to try lots of styles. You may be surprised at how cleverly placed seams on many unpadded bras can hide any nipple'age'!

Some balconette styles are cut lower than others but if you're showing a lot breast over the top of the bra, ask to try a higher cut style or a bigger cup.

Which branch Chickens123? As StatisticallyChallenged has suggested on your other thread, it sounds like you need a smaller band which could be problematic from the high street. Some makes come up smaller than others though. Did you ask for something to make you look smaller?

I'd go back to the shop too, and ask for a refund if they can't provide something more suitable.

Curvy Kate are very good for wide set and shallow breasts as they have very wide wires. Bravissimo stock a selection too. They tend to come up big in the band and small in the cup but have re-aligned their sizing on new models in response to feedback which is encouraging.

Actually the first four are quite good, sorry! It's all that lacy 'look at me' stuff I hate! :)

I ended up with a very understated bra. Like two rice bowls! Not lacy at all. If you want a real harvest festival bra (all safely gathered in) then try Enell. They are front fastening and look awful but they keep everything in one place! I run and do a full contact martial art (when I'm not injured) and nothing moves an inch.

Chickens curvy Kate are notorious for having super loose and stretchy bands. Also, I don't mean to sound mean but you've said on the other thread that you hate your boobs, and normally cover up in sports bras and sweatshirts. So she brought something which matched your existing style surely? I'm not sure it's fair to blame the girl in bravissimo.

I hate fancy frilly things and this is good and has nipple coverage...I'm a 30ff but my boobs look teeny tiny (I'm 6ft)

Thanks passthecake will check that one out as well. They say to just browse around and then select some to try on but I can't tell from the hanger so I appreciate your input. Will try both the satine and cleo on.
